I received a call from this firm about a court date that I must attend; however, I had zero prior knowledge about this court date that was scheduled years agoI told my lawyer that I would not be able to attend due to work responsibilities but I was still chargedMs [redacted] told me that she would show me the documents that have the court date on it, but I never received themI told her that we will not pay until we see the documents (that were never sent to me in the first place), but the bill was sent to collection only days after billing me even though she knew that I was waiting for the documentsThis RUINED my credit even though it was only WEEKSCan a business do this?

I received a call from this firm about a court date that I must attend; however, I had zero prior knowledge about this court date that was scheduled 2 years ago. I told my lawyer that I would not be able to attend due to work responsibilities but I was still charged. Ms [redacted] told me that she would show me the documents that have the court date on it, but I never received them. I told her that we will not pay until we see the documents (that were never sent to me in the first place), but the bill was sent to collection only 21 days after billing me even though she knew that I was waiting for the documents. This RUINED my credit even though it was only 3 WEEKS. Can a business do this?
