Marry & Tux Shoppe, Inc. Reviews (1)

I purchased my dress from Marry & Tux in Nashua, NH on February 27, My consultant was KatyI had with me my matron of honor, ***, two bridesmaids, two aunts, and my future mother in lawMy aunt, ***, bought the dress for me*** went into the dressing room with me every time
I had emailed with Katy to let her know that the Allure was my dream dress and I was dying to try it onThe day we were there, that was, of course, the first I tried on, and I did love it*** and I told Katy that my mother was in FL for the winter due to a traumatic brain injury and would not be home until late May, and that we'd prefer to actually purchase a wedding dress with her present, but that the was definitely going to be the oneKaty told us that that dress was a design and would be discontinued on April My aunt, ***, asked if there was a way that she could put a deposit down or something and then confirm and order that specific dress when my mother returned, and Katy told her again that it would be discontinued on April and that if I wanted that dress, we had to order it before then or I couldn't get it! So, of course we ordered it, for fear of missing out on THE dressWe would have waited until my mother returned, if we had known that it would not be discontinued, and we would have still purchased the same dress at the same store
Via the previous emails, Katy had also given me the price, $1505.00, and I told her that I was concerned about coverage and wearing a regular bra with straps, as I wear a GG cupShe told me that I should purchase the W version with the modesty panel in the back and explained what that was, and I told her that was definitely what I would need! She never mentioned a price difference, so you can imagine my surprise when she gave us a total of $1655.00! She said it was because of that piece of fabric
My mother was devastated that we bought it without herDevastated is an understatement, but I realize that doesn't have anything to do with Katy's deception
On June 1, I called Marry & Tux to schedule an appointment to go in with my mother, so that she could see me in the sample before it was gone (because, again, I believed it was discontinued on April 1), and before she went back to FL in September, as the dress would not be in yetThe woman I spoke to there did not correct me when I clearly asked if "Allure "Faith Ann" was still there in the samples to try on, as I know that it has been discontinued." Katy told my mother, when we went in for that appointment, on June that the dress had in fact been discontinued on June My mom was even more upset, because she was home before June and could have been there to purchase it!
On September 26, I called Marry & Tux to inquire about the status of my dressThey told me that Allure was shipping on the slower side and it wouldn't be in until the end of October
On October 7, they posted photos with my dress on a mannequin in their showroom! I commented, "Is the Allure not discontinued?" They still have not even acknowledged my comment, although they've clearly been active on Instagram and have posted my dress multiple other times, including in a video clip
On October 13, Dorothy called to let me know that my dress had arrived and to book my pick up appointmentShe told me that they schedule minutes to get you accessories, tooSince I have all of my accessories, and also refuse to spend another cent in an establishment that uses lies and pressure to sell wedding dresses and also devastated my mother, I decided to bring all of my accessories with me!
My friend *** accompanied me to that appointment on October Tenley helped me with the appointment, because Katy was busyShe was raving about my veil, which I purchased from a friend for a very low priceShe called Katy over to look at how beautifully it complimented my gorgeous dress and to rave about the amazing deal I got on itI'm only wearing it for the ceremony, so about an hour, and could not justify spending hundreds on itKaty came in and said how beautiful it was and asked me to send her the link to the woman I bought it fromThen, she got down on the floor, on her hands and knees, and inspected my veil, and said, "Ohh never mind! These are all glued on!" Very rudely and loudlyMy friend, ***, is still appalled
I had been waiting until the dress was in my possession to complainIt's my dream dress, was expensive, paid in full, and non refundableSo, I did not want to do anything that might effect my getting my dress in pristine condition!
Last Wednesday, October 19, my fiancé, ***, said that he would like to call Marry & Tux for me, to take that stress off my plateHe called and spoke with TenleyHe told her all of the details I mentioned aboveTenley was very sympatheticShe told him that, "Sometimes the consultants will tell brides that a dress is being discontinued to make them buy it."
