Review: Prior to my purchase on 4/3/14 of $396 in figured & exotic hardwood, I asked questions & received answers that satisfied my need to know the yield if they milled it to 3/16" for me. That was an additional $120. Before agreeing, I inquired specifically about a piece of 8/4 morado and was told it would yield 6-7 pieces @ 3/16" thick. I counted on 6 slices from it & on 3 pieces from each of the remaining pieces which were 4/4.When my son brought the lumber home on Sat 4/5/14, there were only 4 pieces of morado, and 2 of each of the other pieces. I wrote in inquiry, and Brian replied on Mon 4/7/14 that the thinnest slice his saw could make was 3/8", then a sander was used to bring it 3/16". I had not been given that data before. I would not have made the decision to have the millwork done there if I knew there'd have been so much waste of 10 species of hardwood.I was directly told I'd get 6-7 pieces from the 8/4 piece which makes perfect sense until the 3/8" thinnest saw cut is taken into consideration. From that, I inferred that 3 pieces could be cut from all the rest which was 4/4. Brian said he only just learned about the 3/8". Still, he knew it before he milled my lumber. I feel I needed to have been given that data since it meant a 50% reduction in yield from what he quoted me.Brian's last reply on Monday closed with the words, "I just want to make this right & you happy" to which I replied, "It's good to hear you say that. I'll await word from you to hear how you want to do that". I haven't heard from him again. There were no angry words spoken, no hostility. In fact, we have both always been professional, even friendly & that did not change during our conversation about my disappointment with the quantity of lumber that I received.It is disturbing that this company would make the error, then discard a customer rather than correct their own mistake.All pertinent conversations were conducted by email, copies of which I have retained. I shall pass these along upon request.Desired Settlement: I'd prefer to have my lumber order completed as I only received 2/3 of what I was told I would receive for my money. Failing that, I would accept substitutions of select (my choice) other exotic and/or figured hardwoods. These should be shipped to me at company expense. Failing that, a refund to my bank card for $132, 1/3 the price I paid for the lumber would reluctantly be acceptable. The milling charge is not involved as I received what that money paid for.
