Marsh Automotive Reviews (2)

Review: Marsh Automotive came to my with a flatbed & took my 1997 Chevy Venture van,they installed a used motor. When completed we picked up the van & we paid him $1100. in cash he would not provide us with a receipt & advised he has it in the computer. He guaranteed the motor for 90 days. Within the 90 day period, the low coolant light started coming on, we added coolant & had to keep doing so, we did not want to lose the motor. His one employee, [redacted] actually came to our home & looked at the motor & advised they should have replaced the gasket. (We had [redacted] cell number from a personal friend) Myself & my husband left several messages at Marsh Auto on his machine, he wouldn't return our calls. I believe he recognized our numbers on caller ID so I called him from my work number & he answered the phone. I wanted to take it back, he said since I have no receipt showing the date he installed the motor it's now out of warranty. My husband called again today 04/02/14,[redacted] hung up on him. He advised to take him to court, he will win because he has no record of working our van.Desired Settlement: Either replace the motor the right/complete way OR refund us our $1100.

To Whom Tt May Concern;

Review: I took my vehicle into this garage for a transmission replacement.When I came to pick up the car I asked the owner, [redacted], to test drive the car before leaving. He immediately replied with an attitude only if you pay for it first. I questioned that he didn't let customers approve the work before leaving the garage & he replied "If you don't trust me & think I'd put a bad tranny in your car then pull it back in here & I'll take it out" I was caught off guard by his rude reply & stated normally places of business allow you to drive the car to be sure you are satisfied with the work & to assure there are no problems & that I wasn't trying to insult him. Again he repeated that comment that if I didn't trust the work to allow him to take the tranny back out. I paid my bill of $900 & took my car home. While driving it home I noticed a whining noise & called my father who had some knowledge of cars & he came & drove it & noticed the whine also & it never made that noise prior to being service at that garage. The next day I drove it to work & it started shifting hard so I contacted the garage & spoke with [redacted] which was the technician who worked on my car and he said to bring it back as soon as possible. I dropped the car back off & called to check on it the following day & the owner, [redacted], told me he didn't feel there was anything wrong with it because it wasn't throwing any codes. But since I was unhappy he would take the transmission out & have my car towed wherever I chose since he did not want to work on it any more. The car was towed to my home, but he did not return my transmission. My dad had to drive back out to garage to pickup the transmission, but they did not give him my torque converter back. When I called asking for the part he told me he gave it to my dad & I informed him he did not & I said I needed it or the current transmission specialist coouldn't finish the repair. He yelled at me & said "don't threaten me, & don't you or your [redacted] boyfriend every [redacted] call here again!"Desired Settlement: I need my torque converter back because the transmission specialist ([redacted]) informed me each torque converter has different stall speeds and if they were unable to match the numbers then they could not finish my transmission repair/installment because I would have no quality in shift control and it would throw check engine codes. When my father called to speak with the [redacted] he informed him it was "mixed in the pile & had no was of knowing which one was mine"

First off, I would like to mention that the complainant was refunded her $900.00.

Second, the transmission shop does not need the original torque converter to finish the job. They all have the information on hand to match up the numbers.

I spoke with the employees and the torque converter was placed with the transmission in the complainant's father's vehicle, he even asked that the fluids be drained from the converter and transmission before putting it in vehicle.
