Review: Good morning! I received a prepaid Visa Gift card valued at $25 as a gift. I set it aside until I needed it. Then yesterday, on April 14, 2015, I opened the card and called the phone number to activate/confirm its value. I was informed that the card's $25 value had been completely drained by a "monthly maintenance fee" of $2.50 per month. I then spoke with a supervisor, "[redacted]." representative number [redacted] (he declined to provide his last name.) [redacted] was pleasant but restated that the card's value was completely drained by IDT Financial's "monthly maintenance fee". I was told since the prepaid Visa card was purchased in May of 2013, it has no value now even though it has never been used or even opened. An additional $3.95 "card fee" was paid by my friend at the time of purchase. Also it says the card was issued by [redacted] National Bank pursuant to a license from [redacted] U.S.A.Furthermore, the front of the card states it is "good through 04/20! That's the year 2020. IDT Financial Services and "Gift2Go Visa Gift Cards" ripped me off, and ripped off my generous friend that gave me the gift card. IDT Financial Services (under the name of "Gifts2Go Visa Gift Card" should not be taking advantage of the public like this! This is an unethical business practice and I would respectfully request that the full value of $25 be put back onto the card for use at my leisure, as intended. I ask the Revdex.com to please help me, the small and apparently unimportant consumer, stand up against a big business which is, no doubt, cashing in from prepaid gift card funds from people like me all the time.
