Review: I was a patient of Marshall Medical. I mistakenly missed a couple of appointments, which they charged me for anyway and I gladly paid. It was my mistake so I should pay. I'm told they left me a voice mail as a reminder but I never got either one. I should have programed it on my calendar but I didn't. We had a lot going on and uncertainty at that time, I just neglected to schedule it. I didn't have insurance at that time but I have now gone to work for [redacted] so have [redacted] insurance. Needless to say Placerville only has Marshall. They 'discharged' me as a patient. That means I cannot go to any of their facilities. I was told to call the location on Golden Center Dr. I called them and was told my information had to be put before the board before acceptance and my missing two appointments would 'have no bearing'. They rejected me, and why? I have no idea because the answer is simply no without any explanation whatsoever. I am healthy, have never had any medical issues except the inherited blood pressure and cholesterol so may of us have. At this point I have to go down to [redacted] in Folsom. I live and work in Placerville. My fiance lives and owns a business in Placerville. I feel that I have been blacklisted and really don't think it's fair or moral. I was never told this was their policy. I wasn't warned after the first missed appointment. My fault I understand however I paid the bill, I now have great medical insurance I would prefer to use locally. If they are refusing to take me back as a patient at one location because I missed two appointments but that is not the reason for rejection at the other location, don't I have the right to know what that reason is? What I would really like to see happen is to be able to chose a Doctor in Placerville four of which I've called and cannot because they are affiliated with Marshall. The other two I called are not accepting new patients. Please help me right this wrong.Thank you very much.[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like my name removed from the permanently 'discharged' list for Marshall facilities. I attempted to discuss with Marshall directly and sent them an email from the Contact Us page on their web site. I never got a response to that inquiry.

This is a very unfortunate situation and we sympathize with the patient that she is haying a difficult time finding a physician within the Marshall Clinics. In order to maintain an efficient practice that provides access to as many patients as possible, Marshall exercises a no-show policy that holds patients accountable if they fail to cancel their appointments at least 24 hours In advance. Ms. [redacted] received both written and telephonic communications from Marshall’s clinic management regarding the policy after she tailed to keep her scheduled appointments. Unfortunately, Ms. [redacted] had 3 no- shows out of 5 appointments during a 6-month period, so she was discharged, In accordance with our no-show policy, from the Placerville clinic.

If a Marshall physician at another site (such as Cameron Park or El Dorado Hills) b accepting patients, she can request to he admitted to their practice. However, it is up to the physician as to whether to accept the patient or not and her no show history will be considered by the physician. Patients discharged from Marshall’s clinics may be reinstated after one year, if approved by both provider and clinic management. In the meantime, there are other local options for outpatient health care, such as the [redacted] and independent community physicians. Of course, if Ms. [redacted] is In need of emergency care or hospitalization we are here to meet those needs.

THIS PLACE PROMISED AND EVEN SENT ME AN INVITATION FOR A REFILL SPECIALIST AND TURNED ME DOWN. I DON'T HAVE ANY JOB AT THIS MOMENT AND I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULDN'T EVEN SEND ANYTHING OUT TO ANY PEOPLE THERE STAFF IS NOT SERIOUS AND EVEN THE HIRING MANAGEMENT. SO I INCOURAGE EVERYONE WHO CONSIDERS WORKING IN A HOSPITAL THIS IS A BAD CHOICE DUE TO THE FACT IS THAT THEY PROMISE ALOT BUT DO VERY LITTLE.
