Not really custom
I was in the market for a sleeper sofa. The store we were dealing with only carried Marshfield. Frustrated to find out that they are not really "custom"- they will only combine different fabrics that they have pre selected. There is not really any reason from a construction perspective, just that they select fabrics when the style is created and cannot explain why they will not allow another one of their fabrics to be substituted. Given the price and that you wait approximately 6 months now, don't really consider that "custom"

Marshfield is the only company that guarantees their cushions of going flat for life to the original owner. no other company that I know of does that. and as far as fabric, all fabrics are not made by the manufacturer but by mills. and they only warranty them for one year.

Marshfield is USA made, and the ONLY company that I know of that guarantees the frame and even the cushions of going flat to the original owner. No other company does that, that I know of. I believe in the company, but ALL fabrics only carry a one year warranty,

Review: We purchased a sofa Made by Marshfield and sold by Russells Furniture in Bedford Mi. After approximate 3 months the sofa fabric started to pill. At Russell's request, we took a sofa pillow down to show them. They called Marshfield (since the fabric was still under warranty) and were told that if we used fleece on the fabric, it would pill and there was nothing they could. We were not satisfied with that answer so we called Marshfield, and were basically told that the warranty didn't cover pilling. I can only imagine what is covered by their warranty. The whole thing seems ridiculous as we both have fleece robes. We have no pets and I can assure you that the sofa has been used (mostly by me, wife) and no roughhousing by grandchildren or anything else. We expect some kind of compensation by them. I can't guess what the sofa will look like after a years use.

Same here. We are considering purchasing the rustic sofa and chair, but after reading more than several reviews on google and here, many have complained how they don’t honor the warranty, making one excuse or another. At $2,000 (even as a floor model sale price), it’s still quite expensive to gamble whether or not they will honor their warranties. After reading these complaints with respect to warranty, I think we will not be purchasing the sofa/chair. It s too risky.

Very sad to see Marshfield is using inferior fabrics that don't withstand normal wear. Was strongly considering purchasing a living room set from one of their local distributors. However, the price is not inexpensive. Due to their lack of concern in this case, I most likely will not make the purchase. I view companies that don't stand by their product and workmanship very poorly.
