Review: On 9/14/15 I took in my 2008 BMW 328i for repairs as a result of not starting. I was informed by the [redacted] that his shop had the knowledge to repair BMW's and that he would work with the warranty. Following the next 3 days I was informed by the [redacted] that he was still running the diagnostic and did not yet have an answer as to how to repair the vehicle. On Friday 9/18/15 after the shop having my vehicle 4 days, I placed multiple calls, left a message and received no response. On Monday 9/21/15 after calling again I was once again give the run around by the [redacted] that he was having trouble figuring out the problem with the car and speculating that it was possible it was the ignition switch and he was planning on ordering the part. The next day I went directly to the shop to find my vehicle sitting with the windows rolled down and extremely dusty. I was then informed that the wrong part was given to him by the dealer and other nonsense about what it "could" be wrong with my vehicle. Finally the next day I receive a call from the auto shop [redacted] saying the part he thought would fix the car did not work and he was out of options and basically "had to give up", he recommended I take it to another shop but the other shop would not be able to work on my car until Monday 9/28/15 by this time the shop had my vehicle for about a week and half and was going to keep my car an additional 2 days sitting until the other shop was able to take it. At this time I had 2 weeks in car rental thanks to this shop being unable to fix my car or be honest about his lack of knowledge to fix it. The [redacted] offered and gave me $100 to cover a couple of days for my car rental. On Monday 9/28/15 my car was taken to a more knowledgeable shop who was able to diagnose and fix in two days, only to inform me that the previous shop had taken my vehicle without my permission to his shop a few days earlier also for diagnostic. Martell's Automotive repair wasted my time and money and lack knowledge in repairing my car.Desired Settlement: I would like more of my $307 rental charges paid for and I would like the shop to no longer break the law by taking other customers' cars to other shops for help without pre-authorization.
