Martial Arts Institute of Louisiana

Review: I entered into a contract with Martial Arts Institute of Louisiana in September of 2013. After several months, my daughter realized it wasn't for her, but I understand that a contract is binding and I accepted that my checking account would still be drafted each month until the term was fulfilled, which was September 2014. I messaged Martial of Arts Institute of Louisiana via Facebook and sent a letter via regular mail on August 4, 2014 expressing in writing our intention to withdraw from the program. I did not receive a reply in any format from the Institute. Upon the draft of my September payment (Sep. 3), I messaged the Institute once again, I simply asked for confirmation of our withdrawal. On Sep. 4, I received confirmation from Ms. [redacted] that my account would NO longer be debited the $88.50 monthly tuition. Much to my surprise on October 2nd, my acct was drafted yet again by the Institute. On this same date (10/2 - a Thursday), I received an apology from the institute for the "confusion", message further stated that their acct would not be credited until Saturday and that I could pick up a check on Monday (10/6). I sent another message on 10/6 requesting that my refund be mailed to my home address, I provided that address in my request. This message went unanswered. On 10/14; 10/20 and 10/27 I sent follow up messages checking on the status of my refund. On 10/27, I finally received a message from [redacted] that she was very sorry and would get my refund in the mail to me as soon as possible. It has been 2 weeks to the date of this writing and I have yet to receive my refund. I find it unacceptable that after a year of paying via ACH draft to the institute on their terms that I have to beg and plead for a refund due to me. Be wary of who you allow to draft your checking account. The courtesy that you show by paying promptly may not be reciprocated.Desired Settlement: I would like my $88.50 that was incorrectly taken from my checking account to be refunded to me ASAP. The unauthorized draft took place on 10/2 and here I sit today 11/10 without refund in hand.
