My wife went to this dentist office after calling and asking them if they accepted our insurance, which they said they did. When my wife arrived the lady in billing said that they are not in network, but the coverage will be the same, and that the cost would also be the same. They told her that the cost we would be responsible for would be $180, and that we would receive a letter stating the balanceHas been paid by my insurance, or a check to give to the office. She was truthful in saying that we would be responsible for 20% of the allowed amount whether it was in network or not, but she did not inform my wife that they would charge DOUBLE what the Allowed amount was. She told my wife we would only need to pay the $180 up front and the rest would be covered. Upon receiving a bill for nearly 200 additional dollars, I called the office and left a voice mail stating what my wife had been told and that we should not have a bill. Instead of calling me back, they sent another bill with the $200 circled and underlined. I called them and spoke to the woman in billing, and she refused to take responsibility for giving my wife misinformation, instead saying she didn't mislead because she said the coverage would be the same. What she did is lie by omission, by not telling my wife that they would charge a significant amount more than what my insurance allows. She refused to adjust the bill and I paid an addition $60 and was told I would receive another invoice with the remaining balance. I never received another bill until 5 months later. It stated I owed $122 due at the endOf October. I received a call on October 8th, 3 days after receiving the new bill from a collection agency demanding payment and that they are in the process of reporting me to the credit agency. I was intimidated into paying the remainder of the balance for the sake of my credit. Not only did this office deceive me and charge me much more than I was told, the refused to work out a solution and instead intimidated me into paying
