Martin Home Inspection Service Reviews (1)

September 24, 2013 [redacted] Inspector License [redacted] came to my parents home on did a home inspection for a couple interested in buying. I received copy of this inspection and started fixing what was indicated. Ms. [redacted] left dirt all over my kitchen floor, the handle on my microwave way broken, indication oven door was improperly put on and didn't know anything about washer/dryer combo and undid all the hoses from water and turned water off. Only way I knew was I didn't hear any water. Turn it back on only to see it pouring out from facet and the hot water faucet broken. Also, indicated dryer vent was a fire hazard had to replace. I call report service and that's the way they may ovens now (only 2 years old). Hoses were put back on tight and this combo doesn't use dryer vents. He also did put any thing he moved. I afraid to touch desk for fear my wood floor is scratched. At this moment Mr. [redacted] owes me $99 I had to pay for his lack of knowledge know how. I called and left message which he never returned. Had my realtor talk to his realtor who said we need to talk to him and I also sent email asking him to come BACK AND fix what he created. He never responded and still hasn't to date.Desired Settlement$99 exactly what I paid have cancelled check if needed and email I sent if needed. I'm over people taking advantage of me and my father who is retired military and recently wife (mother) died. He's suppose to be a professional and put things back the way he found them not for me to have to come home and clean up after him. Thanking you in advance for your assistance.Business Response The following statements are from my home inspection report for the clients purchasing the home at [redacted] in [redacted]Note: The washing machine/dryer combination unit was present at the time of this inspection; however, due to not knowing how to operate the unit the water supply lines were disconnected from the unit and the water supply valves and drain were tested and deemed to be in satisfactory operating condition. The washer lines were re-connected to the unit and the valves were turned back on with the client's present who were purchasing this house. There were no problems or issues after the water was turned back on to the unit.1a) The plastic dryer vent ducting has unraveled in the crawlspace allowing dryer lint to accumulate in the crawlspace. It is suggested that the ducting be replaced with flexible and/or rigid aluminum ducting due to the plastic dryer ducting has been known to cause dryer fires caused by lint build-up. Pictures of this ducting are available from the inspection report.5) The microwave oven door handle is broken but still operates to open and close door. Also, the working lights at the bottom of the unit do not operate. It is suggested that a certified appliance repair technician further evaluate and make repairs. The handle on the microwave oven was broken upon my arrival to this home and prior to inspection of this unit.I am a professional home inspector and take pride and care when I am in someone else's home. If I have to move an item, I make sure that it is put back in the same location when I am finished. I am contracted with several agents and real-estate companies for my services and have never had any type of complaint filed against me.I was never contacted by Ms. [redacted] with any of these complaints or I would have addressed them in a timely manner.Ms. [redacted] does not have any invoices for proof of these allegations. I do not believe that any of these items Ms. [redacted] is stating are true and I would have been contacted by either the listing agent and/or the buyer's agent had these things occurred. I understand she has filed a complaint against other contractor's which turned out to be false.I feel Ms. [redacted] is upset that the house did not sell due to many issues with the house and is looking for monetary compensation for false accusations.. Thank you
