When we first came at his house to give him a bid, his backyard was not clean, he had just moved in and was getting set up in the new house that he had just bought
We took the measurements and told him that at that time We wasn't able to get the exactly measurement, but I would do his job
following all the lines that he wanted( ft from the fence and following the house lineAlso two walkways of ft wideOne going curved going to the gate and a strait one going to his back garage door) and that at the end we would measure the job area again and then whatever square footage we would get at the end he would pay forHe agreed and that was done exactly like that
At 70% of the job done, the pavers I had ordered were not enough and I had to order more pallets to finish his job. Then at the end I got a difference on the square footage and the $5,differenceHe did not agreed with that even dough he had a much bigger patio and the patio was done precisely the way he wanted ( ( ft from the fence and following the house lineAlso two walkways of ft wideOne going curved going to the gate and a strait one going to his back garage door)
Ways to remediate that:
Remove extra pavers installed to meet exactly what contract stated (reject)
Paid for extra pavers installed (reject)
Paid for extra pavers installed with discount ($ 3.500,00) (never Paid)
We did install drainage under his pavers even dough this was not necessary because his backyard pavers was sloped toward existing drainage and planters
Existing drainage looks like is not working, I visit the site and told him that drain needs to be snake or replace, since that drain is under old concrete slab, we have to demo this area, replace existing drainage and re-pave blending this area with new backyard paver
I quote him in $ 8,dollars to do that and also we ask for payment on extra pavers that was installed
Then he got Mad saying we should have tested if the existing drain was working or not, and we have to do that free of charge, then I Told him if you call a plumber to install a new toilet does he has a obligation to test your entire house drainage ???
Sprinkler line: I got a call from this gentleman saying that was a sprinkler line leek underneath his patio and I promptly told him that we are going to resolve this matter as soon we got a commitment from him to resolve payment problem then he state to me that he has somebody else taking care, but when they put the pavers back together doesn't looks goodImmediately I told him why he has somebody else touch something that we are responsible for.
Because he doesn't want to pay for his bigger patio
I told him that his warranty has to be voided
and I also told him that we are going to lien the amount owned
Long Story shortHe took advantage of Martin Pavers because We didn't state in the contract that we are was going to re-measure the job again at the end and charge accordingly
I tried contacting him again several times to try work whit him and fix all that in a good way for both of us but he just said that he didn't want to deal with that anymore
I have attach some text conversation that we have whit him showing that we are willing to work
