Martin Presence Property Management, LLC Reviews (1)

The first house we rented from them in January of 2016 was not maintained and was filthy when we moved in. You could of yield hay the grass was so tall. They said someone would be right out to cut it. 3 weeks later I took a sling blade to it. Then the inside wasn't clean and we had to do it ourselves. It was on the market for a long time and I see why. They do as minimal as possible and had plumbing issues. They sent meaux plumbing out and fixed the problem. The disposal and kitchen sink was stopped up and was real nasty. When they left we noticed another leek in bathroom sink. I used that sink every night and then some how the seal was busted. It was a brand new sink but I didn't think anything of it. Well like a fool I started cleaning up the place and fixed the gate that was laying on the ground. The dishwasher was also broke so I bought one, put it in, then the owner finally decided to put one in. So I then took mine out and returned it for a small loss. Then they had two showings and then the house was sold. So now me, my wife and two kids had to start looking for another place. We finally got a call back from corys sister and she said they had some other properties we could go look at. I work six days a week so we decided to go with the second one. We scheduled a move in date two weeks from when when we said we will take it. I didn't know the Monroe area so I was just happy we were not out on the street. Two days before we were scheduled to move in I went to go see it and to see where it was. Big mistake. The first thing I noticed was the fake snow on all the windows and then I walked in and it smelt like rat urin and was also nasty inside. I called the owners sister wicth was our agent and told her I can't move in because I had two babies. It was that bad so I called her and told her the deal and she acted like we were the ones who had to rush into the house. I asked her if she did a walk through before we moved in and got no response. She said it had only been vacant a month or so. So why did it still have ho ho ho on all the windows. This was May when we moved in by the way. I asked her if she could get the house cleaned up before we moved in. She said idk If I can someone who's licensed in time to clean the carpet and it was such short notice. I told her I'll find someone who was qualified, then she said I'll see what I can do. I said you can google a carpet cleaning company that can come out and do it. I'd never seen a house so filthy; both kids rooms smelt of urin. There was rat fecies in the kitchen cabinets and in the kids rooms. The kitchen was nasty but a nice lady from there office came out the next day and did the best she could. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you all the carpets were stained and stunk. On move in day Stanley steemers came and cleaned all the carpets but had to cut the water on. Come to find out they had a pipe bust during the winter and they finally paid the water bill right before we moved in. The reason I know the agent/ owners sister lied to me because the neighbors said they hadn't had water for like four or five months. They also said the house was vacant since December since the pipe busted but it was also fixed by meauxs plumbing. Well we got moved in and the water for the washer hook-ups were leaking through the valve so they replaced it. This and the shower lever was all that needed to be fixed. But when they left what do you know it was more leaks. Come to find out Martin presence charges the home owner 150 just for the plumbers to come out. The first time I though it was just coincidental but now I knew they were deliberately messing things up. So they can get there 150 plus what ever they charge for fixing the problems. We called them on it and he was rude to my wife. They could be doing this to other people and giving a kick back to the management company. Also the busted pipe meauxs plumbing was suppose to fix; well it never stopped leaking. It leaked until the day we moved out. When we signed the lease they said they would pay for water. But two month before the lease was up they called and said that now the water was our responsibility. Martin presence broke the lease when they tacked a fee for water on our bill. Another thing that they told us is that they charge a fee of 150 for cleaning up the house wicth obviously they pocket. I know for a fact because both homes were really nasty when we moved in. We have pictures to prove it as well. We ended up moving out after the six month lease was up and it took them more than 30 days to get the deposit back to me. I had to call them over and over to see when they were going to mail it. Then they held out the exact amount it cost to get the carpets cleaned. We even cleaned up the house better than we found it. Cory is a crook because he said it smelt of animals, But it's just those rats. It's just not right how Martian presence operates and I'm sure I'm not the only one who got screwed, becarful of snake
