I must admit that good breeders share certain distinct characteristics such as selling pure breeds and offering similar services as an adoption centerDespite this, I had my eyes set on a mixed breed puppy and even drove the three hours just to see the puppiesI put in my deposit for a seven week old puppy with swimmers legThe lady who had assisted me reassured me that the swimmers legs will be gone by the time he is ready for pick up and that I should not worryObviously, I had researched this condition extensively and found many flaws in her as a breeder as this should have been caught in the third week to prevent mishaps in future internal developmentAfter being patient, the pick up date continued to be pushed backI even offered some suggestions in aiding the healing process of the swimmers legShe seemed to ignore meI suggested for her to bring him to the vet as soon as possible and she abliged as she had planned toI called her the day after and she told me that the vet was full and that she made an appointment for another dayIn my frustrations and attempts for provide a loving home to this pup, I offered to take him in early and deal with the swimmers leg on my ownShe refusedIt was clear to me she has a strong emotional attachment to her puppies, though understanding, a bad trait in a breederAfter bringing him to the vet, I heard uneasiness in her voice as she tried to convince me that this puppy would be fine, though the date must be pushed back, yet againI feel as if I had been patient enough, and eventually I decided to refuse the puppy as I did not want to deal with her unprofessional attitude along with the fear of losing this puppy in the future in regards to the swimmers legNeedless to say, I am unhappy with my experience here at Martins and will now be more cautious as to which breeder I take my business tooI must stress that not everyone will have the same experience, perhaps I was the one with the misfortune of thisThank you for taking your time to read my review as I hope it was helpful
