5/31/17Dear SirThank you for facilitating this dialogue between Martin’s
Flooring and our client. As a home improvement contractor in south-central and
south-eastern Pennsylvania for over years, we take very serious our brand
promise to the consumer. When we make a
commitment to
guarantee our installation services we do everything we can to
stand by that. Building a team of
professional flooring installers, supporting showrooms in counties, and
employing staff members all focused on delivering the highest quality floor
covering solutions is our daily work.Our sales team is trained to prepare a client for the
residual impacts upon their living space from the construction work we are
employed to do inside their home. Our
terms of sale agreement signed by all clients duly notes that Martin’s
Flooring, “shall not be responsible for any consequential damages to the
owner’s property that occur before or immediately following” installation. However, we regularly dispatch flooring technicians
to address a client’s punch list following a job so as to ensure our
installation guarantee.My review of this job, and all communications between the
client and our staff before, during and after, show a determined effort on
behalf of our team to address the punch list items presented to us by our
client. After two post installation
visits to their property, the client said there were no remaining items for us
to address. However, based upon our
installation guarantee we remain open and willing to return to the client’s
home to address any outstanding punch list items related to the products we
installed. That same commitment also applies to the performance of the
flooring products we work with. Should
those be found to be underperforming by our inspection team, we will work with
our vendors to rectify such issues. Home improvement work in an occupied property can be an
anxiety inducing event. Homeowners must
sometimes live in and around a torn up room or two for days at a time. Noise, dirt, and disruption are a reality of
such projects. Our commitment to our
clients is to minimize those impacts while standing by our installation
services. In exchange for that guarantee
all we ask is that a client pay their bill in full.Please see the attached time-line of our work and
communications with the client in question.
There remains an outstanding balance of $1,307.50. We have begun collection proceedings to
