Martinsville Memorial Hospital Reviews (4)

I did not have a good visit here for the first time in a long time. I went here on Monday May 25 and the doctor on call treated me as if I had a disease! He didn't examine me only had me to pee in a cup and made me sit in pain for nearly an hour. I went in and still have pain in my right side in my kidney area that comes and goes. The doctor sat in the chair cringed and asked me about my doctor I had yrs ago that I couldn't go back to for treatment for my back due to finances. That had nothing to do with what I was there for that night and he tells me that I have a bad bladder infection that maybe causing my side pain. He sent me home still crying in pain with two prescriptions no medication to get me through the night nor anything to help relieve the pain even if just for the moment. After two days of medication its let up only a little and if not better soon I'm gonna have to go back to the doctor for treatment and now I'm scared that it maybe something more that a bladder infection. I did go there before and was told that I wasn't pregnant - had a blood test, urine test and a pap smear and went to another doctor and was told that I was pregnant and the pills that were given to me could've caused a miscarriage. Then a yr later that doctor killed himself?? I just don't know anymore...

Review: I have a 20,000.00 judgment on my credit that they will not remove and is causing me not to get a mortgage. I want this removed. I have asked for information to prove it is me, they can not provide anything to me. I have taken off work at my new job, still nothing is resolved. When I call I get the same run around, no one is doing anything.

I have left several voicemails, call are not returned. [redacted] started me off with the process and was very professional and helpful, but everyone else will not take the time to help me. Every address they have is wrong and numbersDesired Settlement: I would like this removed completely from my credit report and the courthouse to be contacted to have this removed.

We are trying to buy a house and I did not even know about this.

Response:

The patient needs to physically come to the hospital and bring proof of identity to request the Healthinformation Management Record. This was communicated to her on 9-9-15, 9-10-15, and 9-11-15 byphone conversation. The patient declined to come at the time of these conversations. We received afaxed copy of the patient's driver's license. The Name, Date of Birth, and Social Security number fromthe license match exactly to the medical records associated with the billed charges. Signaturecomparison from driver's license ls consistent with signature on the medical records associated with thebilled charges. Based on the information the Hospital has, we believe these charges are indeed owedby the patient.Regards,[redacted]ControllerMemorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I do not think I should have to take time out of my work and my travels for something I DID not do. I have provided the same information via fax, that they would ask me for in office. This charge needs to be removed immediately. They had my father's information wrong and everything. The doctor's charges have all been removed by the creditor's after providing this information. I have contacted the hospital and before being seen there is no identifying of the patient, so anyone with anyone's social can go to the doctor and make the other ones pay. this is holding me from purchasing my house and I want this to end. I have provided information stating this was not me, a police officer denied to do a report due ot the fact that the hospital wasn't working with me.

Review: I was charged almost $3000.00 for a simple procedure and Memorial Hospital of Martinsville billing department has failed to provide a detailed explanation of the charges. I have requested this multiple times through the company they have hired for collection and also directly through the hospital billing department for a detailed explanation of the charges other than a two item statement in code that no one can tell me what it means. I was told that the charges would be reviewed and that all collection attempts would cease until the review was complete and the results sent to me. The collection attempts have not stopped, I have received no explanation of the charges and I am continuously threatened that if I do not pay that it will damage my credit.Desired Settlement: I would like a Detailed explination of the charges that is not in billing code. If a code or standard procedure is listed I would like a breakdown of the procedure to see what items, supplies, labor ect. is included in this particular procedure.

Mr. [redacted] was treated in our ED on 8/28/20t4. Mr. [redacted] was charged $1956.00 for an I&Dprocedure. The physician documented that an incision and drainage with an 11" blade was performedon a 1 cm abscess on the left forearm. Local anesthesia was applied, betadine was used to clean thewound, and the abscess was probed to break up localization and then packed with gauze. The propercode assigned was CPT code 10060 for Incision and drainage of abscess; simple or single.A charge of $940.00 for the ER visit level 4 was also charged. Levels are assigned based on apoint system. I verified with our Medical Records department that the level is appropriate based on 97total points for Mr. [redacted]'s visit. His total is as follows: 2 Triage, 20 cleanse wound/apply dressing, 65Incision/Drainage, and 10 ED Discharge assessment. Our charges are in line with our managed care payers and the ED is open 24/7 to treatemergencies ranging from a major heart attack to sore throats. We have filed Mr. [redacted]'s [redacted]insurance and received a total payment of $1049.43 with a contractual allowance of $653.23, thepatient due amount is $1193.34.If any further information is requested, please do not hesitate to have Mr. [redacted] contact me atthe number listed below.Sincerely,[redacted]Patient Financial Services Director###-###-####Cc [redacted]

Review: My dates to use their services were from the end of September of 2014 through the beginning of October 2014. I had received a discount for having no insurance if I had paid them in full immediately for each session which totaled in 5 sessions all together. They claimed that I still owed them, though I provided substantial evidence to their billing company that they were in fact paid in full. I had to call their billing company 3 times to get it corrected. Each time they said they'd look into it. Each time the billing company said the hospital never gave them the information they needed. Instead, they sent it collections 6 months later. I know for a fact that I owe them nothing. I paid in full for each visit to receive the hefty discount (like 75% off) for having no insurance.Desired Settlement: $183.00
