Martk Homes does not take their responsibility to the community Sunset Cove seriously and are full of broken promises.
I have lived in Sunset Cove Community for two winters now and they have not turned the subdivision over to the city of Merrillville for our streets can be snow plowed. Which means it is currently their responsibility to make sure our neighborhood gets plowed and they don't.
In January 2014 I called channel 7 news to come out and do a story on them because no one could get in and out of our neighborhood. Even the channel 7 news truck almost got stuck. Martk answered no ones calls but decided to send plows out when they saw the subdivision on the news. Their practices are dangerous because if we can't get out, that means if there is an emergency, no life saving crews can get in to assist our community if needed.
Today is February 2, 2015 and we have just experienced another snow fall of about 12" to 14" and once again our streets go unplowed. No one can get in or out.
On a separate note. They also sell faulty foundation homes. I just witnessed it last year with the homes they just sold. The concrete pads that the newest homes were built on were highly damaged and should have been repoured but were not. Now the home owners of those new units are experiencing difficulties.
That is truly a "BUYER BEWARE" scenario. If I knew of their building practices, I would never EVER bought anything they built.
Furthermore, they had promised to build a privacy wall from on the outer perimeter of our neighborhood, along Merrillville Road. This community has been here for over 7 years and still has not seen this take place. This also makes me feel they don't take their promises or responsibility seriously.
