Marty's Service Center Reviews (1)

Review: My automobile was towed by AAA to this establishment due to its inability to start. Daily calls were placed to their establishment with no return phone call. Finally, I was told that the car required a new fuel pump and they provided an estimate for approximately $750. I agreed to the price and waited another 7 days until the car was finally ready. Since I was unable to pick up the car myself, my wife paid ($100 higher than originally estimated) and drove the car home. She noticed a gasoline smell. She did not drive it again. When I finally arrived home to drove the car, there was a strong odor of gasoline in the car. I assumed it was due to the repairs performed on the fuel pump. When I finally filled the tank full, the existing smell of gasoline became overwhelming within the interior of the vehicle. When I arrived home, it was continuously leaking fuel onto my garage floor, where it proceeded to corrode the concrete. I immediately took the car to a trusted mechanic, who upon further inspection, discovered a broken fuel tank that was damaged during installation of the fuel pump at Marty's Auto Repair. I called repeatedly (at least 10 times), speaking each time with managers and employees who insured that they had verified the owner of the shop, "[redacted]". I even emailed a picture of the broken tank to a manager named [redacted]. No return phone call was made to me, ever. I tried repeatedly to arrange a settlement of the matter, but only received rude replies that "[redacted]" was a "busy man" who would call me when he had the chance. Failure to receive satisfactory settlement thus far has prompted this complaint. If the complaint continues to go unnoticed, a lawsuit will surely ensue.Desired Settlement: In addition to receiving the service part of the bill as refund (~$350), it is fair to reimburse me the cost of a new fuel tank from Volvo (~$2550), the cost for temporary repair ($270), and the cleanup fee imposed by my apartment building for spilled gasoline ($158). Total reimbursement: $3,328 in cash (as my wife paid you) or bank check. This figure does not include the cost of a rental car for two days ($120) that I was required to pay for while the car was temporarily repaired for the leaking fuel tank.
