Review: Martz Group currently operates a couple of Double-Decker commuter buses. During inclement weather (i.e. rain, snow, etc) the roof escape hatches and the windows on the upper level leak water into the passenger compartment and onto the floor, seats and customers. On at least three times this was brought to the attention of an employee of the Martz Group with the last two occasions being directly brought to the attention of the Regional Manager (Mr. David S[redacted]). On one occasion Mr. S[redacted] indicated that they were aware of the leaking and was addressing the seals around the rood escape hatches and windows. However, the buses continue to leak. Contact was also attempted on two occasions with the Martz Group Headquarters (Mr. Craig S[redacted]) without any success (voice mail asking for a return call which was not returned).

The water leaking into the passenger compartment creates multiple safety concerns. First, the wet floors increase the potential for a passenger to slip and fall down the steps. Also, the electrical for the outlets and lights are in the ceiling and the addition of water could produce a shock hazard. Finally, the upholstery in the ceiling of the bus is constantly getting wet and creates the potential for mold development which could have an impact on the passenger's health. These safety concerns have been mentioned to the Martz Group Regional Manager with, at this time, continued leaking of water into the bus passenger compartment.Desired Settlement: For repairs, to ensure no water penetration into the passenger compartment, to be made to the double-decker buses so that the Martz Group is able to provide their commuting passengers a safe and comfortable means to commute to work.

I would also ask that the Martz Group keep their commuting passengers apprised of the progress of any work to ensure the passengers are protected for outside moisture/elements with an estimated time of completion.

Revdex.com Customer Support,

Review: Martz is deceiving customers posting notices on their site. I have copies of all postings and revisions. I even brought to [redacted] attention that it clearly stated these changes would not take effect on the expiration of tickets until Jan 1, 15 but yet they are selling tickets that expire 12/31 /14 this includes 32 run tickets not only the 10 run tickets I spoke with them about they stopped that right away.

We as customers used to have a 90 day expiration of tickets. they have moved the expiration now without advising the customer before the Jan 01. 15 date.( we understand to 60 expiration to start Jan 1, 15) but now tickets they are selling expire in 6 weeks or less. Today another email notification goes out that they will not run on Nov 28, 2014 which is not a Government holiday. (Some People do work that day) and we pay out of pocket and the govt subsidizes a portion. oh and to add to this the tickets they are selling expiring 12-31-14 have printed on them 90 days but show the expire 12-31-14 so how if you buy tickets in November, still under the jan 1, 15 deadline is it not valid for 90 days??? also you serve govt workers and contractors and nov 28 is NOT a HOLIDAY! They pick and choose at their pleasure how to serve customers'. I have copies of every single notice they put out with these crazy changes showing they are not consumer friendly they don't care about customers yet they take our money and shorten our service or time to use tickets when . govt workers telework, [redacted] How can they expect us to use tickets paid for in 60 days if we travel for work or telework some days??? They leave us no option but to find another mode of transportation. I am tired of the bait and switch with this company. I am just trying to use up my tickets and use alternative mode of transportation. I used to enjoy the bus not anymore.Desired Settlement: I think since they are not customer focused and have no cares. Then stop running commuters buses. They claim they make no money off commuters. Stop lying to customers if you want to stop running commuter please do us all a favor and stop! but the bait and switch and lies we are fed is ridiculous! They serve the public how about acting like your care about your customers as you claim?

Why is it always a hassle with martz? I enjoy the drivers as they are very friendly but the Office people and the person in charge are most difficult. I can and will provide copies to back up what I state from their own site. to include todays email.

Review: The published schedules for the Martz VA buses running between the Route 17 commuter lot and Washington, DC, specifically DC8 in the morning, are wrong. Repeated emails with Mr. [redacted] (General Manager? - no title on his emails) and Mr. [redacted] (CEO of Martz Group) have not offered any solution. Before a move to Fredericksburg I researched the Martz schedules to ensure I could commute to my employment at [redacted] and arrive and depart at reasonable times around my scheduled work hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. In the three weeks I have ridden with Martz the schedule has been changed twice. Per the existing schedule the DC8 bus should arrive at 10th & Pennsylvania Avenue, NW at 8:13 am. Of my approximately 10 morning rides on this particular run, I arrived prior to 8:30 am once; on that day I arrived at 8:26 am - still 13 minutes behind schedule. On two separate occasions (Tuesday, May 5 and today, Tuesday, May 12) I was dropped off at 9:15 and 9:12 am respectively which is an hour later than the scheduled drop-off.

The schedule will change again tomorrow but the scheduled departure and arrival times for the DC8 morning run will not change. I will however no longer be able to ride a Martz bus out of the city until 6:39 pm. The last bus departing 10th & Pennsylvania Avenue prior to the 6:39 pm run is a 4:57 pm departure. There will no longer be any buses departing anywhere near my place of employment between 5:00 pm and 6:39 pm.

Martz is a well-known bus company that has been in business for many years. They should have a dependable schedule for their customers. While I received emails from Mr. [redacted], not one of them explained whether the bus will ever arrive at its scheduled 8:13 am arrival. After this short amount of time I've found that I can no longer ride the bus because I'm not sure what time the bus actually can arrive at my office and I have no desire to sit for an hour and a half for a ride back out of the city.Desired Settlement: Martz should publish schedules that are dependable and are on-time on a regular basis. Other bus companies from neighboring counties have similar traffic issues and are still able to publish reasonable, dependable time schedules. Others who move from outside of Fredericksburg should be able to look up commuter information and be at least somewhat confident that the information is truthful.

Review: I was given a schedule and when I went to the station to get on the bus at the time the schedule SAID the bus leaves after arriving EARLY I was told very rudely that they DON'T follow that schedule! They were not helpfully in answering my questions! They acted like I was stupid for not knowing what they told me and they DON'T follow the LISTED schedule! I NEITHER RECOMMENDED NOR APPRECIATE their behavior towards PAYING customers! I had to wait 2 hours for the bus they told me was supposed to leave at 3 when both the bus and I were there at 1!!!!!!!!Desired Settlement: They n need to both treat people w o th more respect (whether wrong or right) and stick to the schedule They give to customers or make a better schedule!
