Marvin Altman used to set the standard for health and fitness but, the current state of the facility is filthy and dilapidatedThe carpet is nastyLockers (most of which don't work) are covered with rust and grimeThe showers are usually covered with stains, mineral deposits and biofilm sm (they were cleaned once during my year long contract.) The locker rooms have leaks from the ceiling into the carpet floor (even when it's not raining outside, hmm?) The pool filter/chemical situation always seems to be out of whackI stopped using the whirlpool because it always smells like fecesI stopped using the sauna because they wouldn't replace the light and I could only imagine how disgusting it would be if I could actually see what was in thereI stopped using the swimsuit dryer because it broke and they ripped it off the wall and never replaced itThe new towel policy is ridiculous! All the Health and Fitness theme graphics and decor have been replaced with what I can only call fear inducing health crisis advertisements for Sparks HospitalThey have large screen TV's everywhere all of which are broadcasting FOX news or infomercialsEvery area of the facility is blaring different kinds of music all at the same timeIt's an audio/visual assault on the sensesWith all the work that clearly needs to be done there's usually about employees sitting around the front desk napping, texting, or surfing the internetThis was never the case at Marvin Altman during it's primeThe sad thing is that under all the dirt and grime it's still solid facility and if they would just clean it and maintain it the place it could be one of the best in the area
