Marv's Service Station Reviews (1)

Review: The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines allow up to two monitors to be in a “not ready”

state for model year 1996 through 2000 vehicles and

one monitor “not ready” for 2001 and newer model

year vehicles. Marvs failed my vehicle and removed my currant inspection sticker for 1 "not ready"monitor telling me I must pay additional 11 dollars at a later date to receive my inspection sticker. returning the next day asking if they were aware of NY state "not ready"monitor laws he rudely told me to leave his property!! I took my vehicle to another local service station paying a second inspection fee and passed with no issues..I've also have spoken to friends having the same experience with Marvs service centerDesired Settlement: Desired Settlement: Refund-Cash

Response:

This complaint is aimed at the wrong person and has no basis being directed towards me. First off, the gentleman's car failed inspection hands down. Than he almost tried to fight me because of it in my parking lot. I was nothing but nice to the man and he had no right to treat me the way he did. Second, IT IS NOT UP TO ME WEATHER OR NOT A CAR FAILS THE EMISSIONS PORTION OF AN INSPECTION. The state gives me their computer and their software and it was the state of New York that failed this man's vehicle. During the emissions portion of the test the computer directs me to plug a vehicle in with obd2 plug given to me by the state. After I plug the car in the machine tells me to start the vehicle and hit enter. Than it is up to the states computer weather or not the car passes or fails. I have no control over what the machine decides. After the computer runs it's test it prints a pass or fail receipt. If the gentleman has a complaint he needs to contact the state of New York and argue with them. I would have been more than happy to help him contact them until he treated me the way he did over something that I had no control over. Again, sir it is the state of New York's DMV that failed your car. The safety portion of an inspection is up to me and I passed your car for this portion. I did as much as I could for you and you are taking your anger out on the wrong person. You need to understand that you have to direct your complaint to the Department Of Motor Vehicles because they are the ones that failed your car not me.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

driving less then a mile from marvs service center {with no sticker in the window of my vehicle, marvs service center failed to give me a ten day sticker something the ny state emissions computer should have printed out ? ?i received nothing, just a verbal notice of failure}my car passed inspection with no issues at the second service center as it should have at marvs service center.I will also add that I am a 56 year old male on permanent disability for disease of my spinal cord and displacement of cervical inter vertebral disks highly doubtful that I was picking a fight... keep the money

I had my vehicle tested for inspection again .it passed with no issues,
