Hey ***, it was nice talking to you here are your requested documentsIf I can be of any further assistance to you please feel free to contact me. Charletta S*Tx Corrdinator

It is the goal of Maryland Periodontics to provide to
our patients, excellent care and customer serviceBefore any procedure, all
procedures, options and possible outcomes are discussed in detail with
the
patientAll financial agreements and arrangements are determined prior to any
procedure
On July 30, 2015, *** *** *** came to Maryland Periodontics
as a referral from her general dentistThe patient was told by the
receptionist upon arrival that she would owe nothing today as we would submit a
claim to her insurance and would mail the remaining balance to her home for her
to payUpon completion of her consult the patient left our office on good
terms
The patient was then sent a statement of charges not paid
by her insurance on September 1, of which there was no responseA second
letter was sent October 20, 2015, and a third letter on November 4, after
not responding in the day windowA final financial agreement letter was
sent on November 30, to which the patient called the office
The patient spoke to Cate, our receptionistCate
proceeded to tell the patient that the $was for her copay to which the
patient said she thought the consultation was free because her general
dentist’s office thought it was freeCate politely told the patient that that
was not the case and reminded the patient of what the receptionist said at the
arrival of *** *** to our office, that we would submit a claim to her insurance
and whatever balance was left over would be mailed to her to payCate offered
a discounted rate of 10% off of the total and also offered to bring the patient
back in to verbally sit down and discuss the chargeThe patient declined and
stated, “So I guess if you’re going to send me to collections that you had just
better send me for thirty-five dollars.” Cate then offered to call the patient
back the following day when emotions weren’t running high the patient hung up
on her
The patient was given a total of four letters over a four
month period and declined to payThe patient was also given ample time of
days from the time the last Financial Agreement Letter was sent on November 30,
to being sent to collections on January 20, Patient provided no
evidence of being offered a free consult, and was therefore sent to
collections

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
per the ONLY letter that I received since moving will only accept to pay the $35 plus the 10% that was never offered based upon my research and ask that they please makes customers aware of hidden fees upon check in so that they may consult their insurance company to avoid the suffering I have experienced with this miscommunication on their part. Attached documents of letters that I never received doesn't mean anything to me as I can only reference the last letter in which I did receive. I also see the detailed bill attached as well. First time seeing this also...unbelievable.
Regards,
