Mary's Driving School

This complaint is regarding *** who gives the address of Mary's Driving School 91 Queen St. S. Kitchener. The place has a "for lease sign in the window and she hasn't been there for years. There are two signs outside the building that say Mary's Driving School they are faded and windows are very dirty. She still is using that address on her website.

On April 11, 2019 I asked *** for her business address, she said works out of her home. Told her to write the address on her receipt. She wrote *** St. Also, on April 11, 2019 I hurt my leg getting out of her small car, I stood there and wouldn't move and she laughed at me.

On April 13, 2019 when I said about my leg again she said doesn't have a school bus. When I told her *** Ave is not a street and is North or South, she said was North, well show it to me.

I walked to *** Ave North there wasn't a #48. On April 14, 2019 I phone *** said how are you going to show it to me when it doesn't exist? She snapped I have no time for that. This was the last straw, she ***.

I know how to drive and these lessons were excessive, but *** kept saying I need more lessons, she *** a total of $650.00 from me and I'm asking for it back.

I phoned the person on May 8, 2019, who has 91 Queen St. S, for rent he said. *** hasn't been there for years. Told him she is still using that address, he said she shouldn't be doing that. He also said the signs should be taken down.

*** never gave me a business card. Also said would only accept cash. She doesn't have any name on the receipt she gave me found only signs her name with a line. A person can't even read her writing.

I failed the road test, she didn't care, just have more money for her.

When I first started with Mary's Driving School was told it would be $35.00 for 1 hour lesson for the road test. The amount was increased to $40.00 for 1 hour lesson and $140.00 for the care and 1 hour lesson for the money before I had the road test and the 1 hour lesson. She then said "don't let anyone see the money" in case they were looking in the car window. ***

The following is my experience with Mary's Driving School, if the school still exists.

1. When I was driving she talked about the news on TV not paying attention to me, talked on the phone stopped to talk to person on street, talked about her personal life.

2. Stopped at ***, while I waited in car on my hour, came out with fresh lipstick on.

3. Met *** at driving centre, drove a student home to Westmount, Ottawa St. on my hour, this isn't the first time it happened driving students to locations.

4. She had the habit of grabbing the wheel and not saying why!

5. When I came to an intersection I asked her many times if I should turn or go straight, she wasn't paying attention looking at her files. Many times I didn't get the full hour.

I gave *** money 14 times which totaled #650.00 and she wanted much more.
