Masonry Restoration, Inc.

In Summer 2013 I received an estimate from Masonry Restoration for tuck-pointing and masonry repair work. At the time, I explained that I may not hire the contractor until the following year pending some other exterior work on the residence. I recently followed up with the company to ask a couple of questions about the estimate (as I am now ready to proceed with the work). I also inquired if I could find out more detail about the estimate given that it was higher than another similar estimate I received and I needed more information as to why it was higher, or whether they could match the other one. Remarkably, instead of accommodating my request to have an estimator return my call to discuss the reasons the estimate was higher, the woman who answered the phone (who verified that she was one of the owners of the business)asked me "why don't you just use the contractor who gave you the lower estimate?" I said that the reason was because I needed to find out more detail about their estimate and that I liked the person who provided the estimate and wanted to give her company the business as a result of my experience with the estimator (who, incidentally is no longer with the company). The woman was totally rude and said that if she had a lower estimate she would just go with the other company. I remarked that this was a very rude position to take where I was a potential customer trying to give them business. She said "thank you" and hung up on me. If this is the treatment a potential customer (who was referred to them) receives when simply inquiring about his questions concerning the estimate, I would caution folks to investigate fully before engaging this company.
