Lease expires on September 19,2017.Upon Lease expiration the lease term automatically renews as a month to month tenancy pursuant to paragraph 3 of the Lease, unless either .party provides sixty (60) days7 advance written not',ice of their intent not to renew. Consequently either party to such a Lease may give the other the sixty days’ notice of their intent not to extend the term of the Lease or permit the tenancy to continue on a month to month basis.His landlord elected not to renew or extend the term of [redacted]’s by an appropriate written notice date June 22. 2017 which gave him considerably more than the requisite sixiy days’ notice.Neither the Lease agreement nor applicable provisions of the Virginia 'Residential Landlord and. Tenant Act require that either party state any reason for their decision to not renew the term of the lease or allow it to continue on a month to month basis. They need only give timely written notice of their decision not to renew or extend the term in reliance on. the relevant provisions of the Lease.
