Mass Air Duct Cleaning
This business has a very professional web site, but don’t fall for it. It also advertises itself as a Revdex.com accredited, but Revdex.com gives an “F” mark to this business and does not confirm Revdex.com accreditation. This business advertises same day - don’t hold your breath. $29.99/vent price - expect at least a double. Advertised “top of the line materials” and “experienced service professionals” or customer service - made me feel like I’ve been pranked. Ive had the service scheduled for the next day (because they couldn’t do the same day, as advertised) from 2 pm to 4 pm on 02/25/2020. The technician called me at 7:24 AM on the morning of service day to reschedule appointment for 11 AM. I’ve agreed. The technician came in with a strong smell of marijuana and just went in, walking with a pen and writing paper. No explanation of what he is doing and how things will be going down. When I’ve asked what he was doing, he said he was counting the vents. Then he told me that the price was $69.99/vent (not the $29.99, as advertised). When I’ve told him that before scheduling the appointment I had verified the price/vent to be $29.99. He told me that because my vents are on the ceiling, instead of the floor, he will need to bring a ladder etc, therefore the price is different. Then I have found out that he is doing work by hand, with a brush first, and then vacuums it. I’ve told him that I wasn’t interested in his service in that case. He left me an estimate and left. When I called the office back and described what happened, the guy responded: “So, what would you want us to do?” And then just hung up on me.

On November 12th I hired Mass Air Duct Cleaning to come out and clean our dryer vent that was blocked. I had previously had this done in February of this year (by a different company). Their technician arrived gave a quote ran a brush through the vent and said it was complete and left. Our dryer still did not work, at this time the dryer was old and we assumed it must be the dryer as in February of this same year we had the vent cleaned by another company successfully solving the issue. Since the 12th we have purchase TWO brand new dryers and neither of them are drying despite running for 5 hours. The hose vent has a ton of lint and water coming out of it see photos. Which indicates it was not cleaned properly. I have spoken to a manager regarding how grossly over priced they were. I was able to pull the bill from the previous company I hired in February who only charged 175 their technician went in the attic and used a ladder outside to properly clean this vent. None of this was performed by Mass Air Duct who was double. I have now paid them 345 for nothing and have purchased two different brand new dryers. The person I spoke with only was concerned with getting the name of the previous company as she said she can't believe that is what they charged.

When our technician was there he evaluated what he could and was shown by your husband whom was home. We do evaluation and break down of service to be done before any services are started or approved. On a recorded line with our HR representative:1st call, was regarding price which was the second time it was broken down to you and your husband. First time was done so by our technician to your husband. There was no mention of issues besides price.2nd call, was mentioning water to be in the dryer vent. The equipment we use is a silicon tipped rotare brush that is specifically made for dryer vents and to gently scrub the walls from lint. It was also mentioned in this conversation that it was a recurring issue of water being in your dryer vent and that was the reason for getting a new dryer to being with, and only cleaned it because it was recommended by the person who installed the new dryer.Their are only 2 ways water can enter a dryer vent: Either the cap that is placed is not blocking the outside elements properly or a water line of some kind is attached to the dryer vent. The latter not being possible for our technician to do since he isn't a plumber. Our HR representative had offered for a manager to come out there to your home for a complimentary evaluation to see what would be the opening for water to bypass through into your vent, on a recorded line, declined the offer for us to see this concern through.

I had a birds nest in my dryer vent on the outside of the house. I called massairduct cleaning. Once there I showed the technician the visible nest on second floor above windows. He said he could get it from inside house. Once inside laundry room he seemed to stare around and make measurements and seemed unsure. I asked about going from outside of house; he said maybe later. He was there maybe 45 min and then called me to say he was finished. He showed me a small amount of feathers and nest material (no bigger than a golf bowl). He said the rest would get blown out when I run the dryer. He wanted me to pay and him leave before I ran the dryer or looked at the outside of house. The dryer did not blow out the rest of nest; then he said the wind will blow it out. I refused to accept this and he got his ladder (which I helped him with Bc he seems to have never used a ladder before). I quickly realized he was uncomfortable with the ladder. I asked to reschedule with someone with a ladder. I paid the service fee $99 and he left. Next day he arrived with someone else and they stared at the nest for 30 min. I received text that he has removed the nest. I tried the dryer three times and got Same error message. I called the company back; I was spoken to very rudely and even cursed at and threatened when I questioned about the nest removal. I paid the fee I agreed to $255. I hired another duct cleaning company, he came and removed a huge nest and a lot of lint and buildup within 1.5 hours. I have photos of the actual nest and photos of before and afters.

I called and discussed the nest with *** at the company. He sent a person out later that day. The person who came out had me sign a paper that stated “nest removal” and 99. Fee. he did not leave it with me. I also did not get a reciept for the $99 fee I paid the first time he came out in which the nest was not removed and he acknowledged they would come back to get the nest the next day for $255. I was told I’d get a receipt for the $99 by email but I did not.
