Review: I have been a member of Massage Envy for a couple years. In the past three months, they have cancelled 3 separate appointments on me and, as a result, I have not been able to use the service. Last year I had a car accident and wasn't able to make an appointment, so I was charged for that visit. That charge was congruent with what it said in my contract, so I sucked that one up. In May 2014, just hours before a scheduled appointment I got a call from the spa stating,. "[the massage therapist I had an appointment with] is having car trouble and won't be able to be here for your appointment." I felt like cancelling my membership then, but I liked him and decided to reschedule. The appointment was set for July because that was the earliest Saturday appointment that was available. The morning of my appointment, I was excited to finally use the service again, but got a call the night before. This time, the caller identified - "[the massage therapist I had an appointment with] was in a car accident and can't be here for your appointment." That was two appointments that were cancelled by the spa and no services provided even though they continued to debit my account $59.99 on the 19th of each month - my account now had 4 months worth of un-used massages - and I couldn't get service for the money I paid. I wanted to cancel my membership, but the clerk convinced me to try a different, more reliable, therapist. I reluctantly agreed, but set the appointment. That therapist ended up to be pretty good, so I was feeling better about my membership and saw her twice last month. I was scheduled to be with that same massage therapist today for a third visit, but I got a call at 9am this morning that "[the massage therapist I had an appointment with] is really sick and will not be in today." The person that called me tried to appease me by suggesting that I talk with her manager. Another of the front desk personnel called me back almost immediately and proceeded to inform me that the front desk has no control over when the therapists come in or don't. (duh!) I understand things happen, but THREE cancellations from two different therapists in THREE months is, I feel, excessive and has caused me to be unable to utilize this service, with additional un-used massages in my account with them. They have no problem taking my money, but they seem to have a real problem providing the services I've contracted with them to provide. Three strikes and you're out. I want my money back. Obviously I can't use their services if they continually cancel my appointments! I'm just DONE.Desired Settlement: I want to cancel my membership with Massage Envy and I want full compensation for all of the un-used services in my account with them (should be at least four I believe). I want a written statement to reconcile what I have paid and what I have used to date since my membership started. I paid $59.99 for each service (old cost was $54.99, but I think I used all of those up), and, assuming there are 4 in my account - they don't send out statements, so it is not clear (that's another problem I have with this business' service!), which equals approximately of $240 due to me. I have read MULTIPLE complaints on-line about this company continuing to deduct money from people's bank accounts or charge cards once an account is terminated, so I also want assurance that they will not do that. I just want to be done with them all the way around. Period.
