Review: [redacted], owner, had my roller shade hung by someone named [redacted]. I then called Mr. [redacted] that the shade was not totally blackout as I had expected. He said that he had told me of the light leak, or light gap, on each side at the time of coming to my home. [I don't remember his ever having told me of that.] He said I could get drapery covers, or whatever the correct name is, for each side of my roller shade so as to eliminate the light leak/light gap on each side. That would mean more money, inconvenience, and have a cluttered look. I realized that by ending the shade at the window's ledge, and not going all the way down to the floor, it greatly reduces the light leak/gap. By going all the way to the floor it brings the roller shade out more from the window so as to clear the window ledge. Yet Mr. [redacted] had failed to advise me of that when he had come on August 17th about window coverings. I had told him that I wanted complete blackout, total blackout, and the roller shade had seemed the best and most reasonable choice. But he failed to point out that it should end at the ledge so as to have maxmimum blackout. However when ending the roller shade at the window ledge it buckles on its left side. The left side is longer than the right side!! The right side is smooth, and is relatively close to the wall; but the left side bends, and so cannot stay close to the wall. Whether [redacted] failed to install correctly or whether the shade was made incorrectly [not straight] I cannot know. The company is sending someone out to check. But given all the many problems - 1) I had been told it would be ready ten days from when [redacted] came out to measure; 2) [redacted] came out to measure August 20th, but it took weeks before it was ready; 3) August 31st I had called Mr. [redacted] expecting the shade to be ready, and he said it was to be delivered that Thursday or Friday which then did not happen, 4) Mr. [redacted] failed to keep in touch about the ongoing delay- I ask the belowDesired Settlement: The shade is not as represented and/or as I had believed that it would be. It is worth only half of what I was charged -especially given all of its still ongoing problems- if it is determined that it was installed incorrectly. But if when the manufacturing company checks the shade out it needs to be completely replaced, because it was made defectively, then I ask for a full refund [as the company would be taking the defective shade and I would not want replacement], plus to have my original blinds returned. My original blinds were brand new! [The seller, who I had bought my home from, had totally renovated everything and so all blinds are new. Since Mr. [redacted]' roller shade is not totally blackout it is not even that great of an improvement over my original blinds.] I gave my original blinds to the young man who had accompanied Whill when Whill came to install the roller shade. My original blinds would need be returned to me if the company finds the roller shade defective.
