On January 27 2014 I purchased a storage building from Mastert Builders of New Bern at a cost of $5177.00. There were shelves added to the building at my request. On the day that the building was delivered I was not briefed on the weight restriction for theshevels.On July 2nd I went into the storage building and notice that the shevles were pull from the support. I also notice that the brackets had been secured only with two nails.The only thing that I would like is to get the problem with the storage building corrected.Product_Or_Service: Storage BuildingDesired SettlementI request the the problem be resolved by Master Builderts of New Bern.Business Response Master Builders of New Bern supplies quality products to our customers including the customer who filed the above complaint. We do not give warranty's on shelf systems and the reason we do not give them on the shelf systems is because they are not designed to hold 100's of pounds of weight and to be completely over loaded with very heavy material like the owner admitted he did on 7-3-2014 while talking with him on the phone. While in contact with him I explained this to the owner and told him that the shelf's were not designed to be over loaded and that we can NOT put an exact weight value on the shelf and all that is needed is to use common sense while loading the shelf with objects and not to over load it with heavy objects and I recommended no more then 70 pounds be placed on the shelf since if exceeded it would cause the shelf to come apart as described by the consumer.We have been in contact with this consumer and he is aware that we plan on going to his address to look at the shelf as soon as we can get a chance since we have other job's on-going at the moment. We take customer support and repair calls very seriously and we are well known in all of eastern North Carolina as having the best building product on the market and we have never had any complaints of this nature since starting our company over 35 years ago We were contacted about this building on 7-3-2014 and the owner is aware that we plan to come to his residence to look at the trouble and see what can be done about it. I talked to him yesterday 7-8-2014 myself and told him that we would be getting to his residence with in a matter of days and to please be patient.
