Marguise Glen came to our doorHe was very friendly, told of working to provide for his family, of second chances, the work of going door to door (I've been there--it's not easy), etc, so yes, I felt for himThe magazines he was selling he said could be donated to a hospital instead of ordering for ourselvesIt would give him higher credit for the order, help the kids who would enjoy the magazine, and more, and yes, I felt for that situation tooThe prices turned out to be much higher than I could afford, but I did order oneI have requested to cancel my order though, and am going through the steps to make that happenI'm all for giving the first positive review if this cancelation and reimbursement can be done in a timely mannerI could post a negative review based on the same experiences of those who have already posted and foreshadow the same will happen here, but I am keeping mine neutralI want to believe behind this business there are legitimate people doing honest workEverything I read is pushing me to doubt though

We too were taken in by the young man's story of how he was trying to help lots of different groups, pick one, any one, we will send the books to that place I tried to just write a check for dollars but no, I had to buy books I really didn't want to write a check for that much, but he was pretty compellingHe also took a call from his "boss" and said he was running late He referenced a few areas of town, but it was evident that he was hnot really very familiar with our part of townAnyway, I wrote the check and off he went Something kept gnawing at me though, I looked at the receipt and there was no address that the books were going toThe book names were incorrect It called out issues of each, even though I paid for hardbacks (single purchases)Then when I found that my neighbors (who were also at his pitch) put a stop payment their check, I also did so Very smooth talker, seemed empathetic, but absolutely no details were correct I think if you are going to steal from people, your details have to be a lot more precise Kinda burned us afterward that he talked about God a lot.....right

I placed an order with a nice, polite and friendly young man this past summerLike the others, I enjoyed our conversation and felt that buying something would show support and encouragement for those who are willing to work for compensationIt has now been just over four months (purchase was 6-28-16) and still no sign of the magazine I orderedI just placed a call to the number listed on an earlier review (219-878-1085) at 1:in the afternoon (business hours are stated as 12-p.m.) and got a recording wherein I left all my contact information along with the receipt number and the purchase dateI will show a neutral review for now and see if they return my call or not, as well as if I get my magazine or a refund of the $spentI will then update my review based on the outcome

I as well was lured in by the story of a young man trying to better himself His boss called his cell phone while I was talking with him I ordered magazines on 9/25/and to date, 4+ months later have not received anything I emailed the company email address directly with all the details and received an email back from a [redacted] and the only thing it said was "Hello, attached is our price list" I responded that I was not interested in a price list and did she read my email about never receiving delivery The internet is full of bad reviews of this company, unfortunately I had not read up on them before writing my check Avoid at all costs

I ordered a magazine from one of their door-to-door salespeople months ago and it has never arrived A quick web shows that this company is frequently associated with scams Avoid this company at all times

I purchased magazine subscriptions at great cost to me on 8/26/from a young man trying to better his situationAfter almost months, I have yet to receive a single magazine issueThe number that is provided on the receipt only leads to voice mail and have yet received a call backVery disappointing to find that this company who reportedly works to help out people, is a company that does not honor its end of the business dealThis will discourage future sales that could help the very people that they are supposedly trying to help with this jobI contacted our city to suggest that future soliciting privileges in our community be scrutinized before granting in the future

To Whom It May Concern,The customer mentioned above has been removed from our system He will no Longer receive calls from Koons Arlington Toyota. If you have any questions please contact me.Thanks,Katie D***Customer Relations Manager

This company takes the advantage of those struggling and has them sale products for them and then does not sent me the buyer that I purchased a book for $60. After 9 months I have not seen the book. Yes, I over paid for this book but did so because I thought I was helping a down and out mom. I sure hope they paid her. They had no problem cashing my check that same day but I have not to date, 9 months now, received the book. I have made over 10 calls the last 4 months and sent emails, all un answered. This is company is a scam and taking advantage of those trying to make money that are on hard times and use those peoples struggles to scam the buyers by using the sad stories of those trying to sell their so called products.

Do not fall for these door to door people representing this scam of a company.

During the service we found that the drain plug for the motor oil did not fit properly into the oil pan.The only Toyota approved repair for this is to replace...

the oil pan and drain plug. That is What We recommnended. There are other "repairs" available that are not Toyota certified. Some of these can last years and Some not at all.We did nothing wrong. I am hope that the clients repair serves her well and I wish her all the best in the New Year to come.

On 8-27-16, we fell prey to a con artist who arrived at our door. It was a young woman who had what seemed to be valid identification and licenses for her sales job. She spent much time telling my husband about her background and how this company was giving a second chance to many like her and she just wanted to make something of herself and that proceeds from this company go to young individuals like her for work programs, etc....My husband ended up purchasing 2 book sets for our grandchildren for a total of $100 (which ended up at a total of $115 because there was also a $15 service fee). He felt good about this costly purchase since she said a portion of the money goes directly to people like her to help them learn job skills and prepare for the work world. It is now 5 months later and the books never arrived. The receipt we received looked legitimate...printed up with all the usual disclaimers and in triplicate. It did indicate it could take up to 3 months to receive the magazines.

I have called the only phone number I could find several times and left several messages with no return calls. There wasn't a phone number on the receipt, but there was an address for their website and that's where I got the phone number. The website is very generic and doesn't give much information. So I googled the company name and saw all kinds of scam reports and ripoff reports posted, so apparently this isn't even a real company.

We have definitely learned our lesson and will never fall prey to this again, no matter what kind of sob story the salesperson gives us. Unfortunately this means any well-meaning person (including kids selling for trips) will have to take "NO" for an answer from our house. We haven't wanted to post a No Solicitors sign on our front door in the past because we always like to purchase from the kids in pur community whether it's for sports, band, a local youth organization, Scouts, etc because our own girls used to go door to door for sales back when they were in school trying to raise funds for their school's magazine drives, candy sales for the schools, and various sports teams. We always want to give back but this experience has ruined that!
