This is a complicated case that needed time to research I will summarize.In May of 2017, Master Finance received an application for credit from a person with a similar name as the complainant The applicant supplied her own social security number, address and date of birth All of those identifying factors were unique to her and different from the complainant.We attempted to pull the applicant's credit report with the information supplied The resulting credit report, however, belonged to the complainant That credit report supplied the social security number and address unique to the complainants We did not attempt to pull the complainant's report as she stated.It was some time later that the complainant notified our office that we had retrieved her credit report An investigation was started and the claim was verified Trans Union identified the issue as internal to them The investigation resulted in a request to remove the "hard" inquiry from the complainant's credit report That took place in June of 2017.Fast forward to May of 2018, we received this Revdex.com complaint with regards to this situation The original employee who handled this is no longer with us, so retrieving the information and the fact checking took a little more time.I sent an email to the complainant on 6/6/explaining that I would investigate this (copy included).I received an email confirmation today, 6/7/2018, from Trans Union They have assured me that the "hard" inquiry was removed at the time of the original request (June 2017ish).I sent an email to the complainant this morning explaining the response from Trans Union LLC If what Trans Union is stating is true, then there was no need for this complaint If there is additional issues or problems not stated, I have left this issue open with MsThomas with the intent to see this through to completion
