Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/05/31) */
The patient in question was seen by our practice to gain a second opinion regarding her prosthesis that was broken and had previously been repaired by her original dentist multiple times and had gotten to a point where she was obviously unhappy...

with the result. She reported that the prosthesis had been broken and repaired repeatedly by her past dentist.
The previous prosthesis had been non-removable.
Given the number of complaints and problems observed nationwide with miniature implants, alternatives to miniature implants were discussed and recommended prior to treatment. That recommended treatment was declined by the patient because of the cost involved. We provided another alternative, which was chosen.
A removable prosthesis was fabricated to insure that the patient was able to maintain the health of the miniature implants for as long as possible. The patient repeatedly requested that we permanently install her prosthesis, which this Practice was steadfastly against for a variety of reasons.
A non-removable prosthesis was not promised nor recommended for the miniature implants.
The patient's dissatisfaction remains with the original dentist and the miniature implants she was provided by another practice. The work provided by our Practice is performing as it should.
Committed to Excellence in Implant Dentistry,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/06/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I am not satisfied with the response I received. Dr. [redacted] did not address the issue of the warranty, the sharp point he filed into one of my posts, nor the foods I am no longer able to eat due to his workmanship. The assumption that I was unhappy with the work of my old dentist is not factual, nor did I ever explicitly state that I was unhappy with the work that was performed. I was unhappy with the prosthesis in question that had broken in the same exact place on two occasions. I believe this to be a problem with the lab he used. I sought out a second opinion from a new dentist because they provided internal lab work and was under the impression they would be able to fix the one prosthesis I was having problems with. He stated there were a number of complaints and problems with miniature implants, and the ADA did not allow them due to liability issues. I stated in my letter that I could not find those claims, however, a 12 year study I found stated that after there is a 92% success rate for miniature dental implants. The ADA does not state any problems with miniature implants on its website. I have not had any problems with my miniature implants for 4 1/2 years except for the one prosthesis that broke that I sought out a second opinion to fix. He admitted that my implants looked good, and he told me they seemed to be working for me. The dentist stated that they would glue the prosthesis in place and [redacted] explained to me that they would have to drill holes in order to cement in place for it to cure properly. I'm now getting sores in my mouth where the new non-removable prosthesis was placed that I never had problems with before. The alternative treatment that was suggested would have cost [redacted] Also, the work performed included a two year warranty which will no longer be honored because I was only given a 30 day window to return for any issues and was told to find a new dentist promptly.
