Masterbedroom

On December 27, 2019 I purchased a mattress and mattress cover from MasterBedroom. I was feel as though I was pressured to purchase the mattress cover as I did not want to purchase it at the time. At the time there were no covers in stock, so I was told the cover would be delivered with my mattress on Jan 10, 2020. Upon delivery of my mattress, there was no mattress cover. MasterBedroom was called that day regarding the missing cover and I was told it would be in the following week and I would recieve a call. The following week, I had not heard from the store so I called again and was told the cover was not in and would be in the following week and I would receive a call. Approximately a month from the time of the purchase and I hadn't received a call. I happened to be near the store and popped in and was told the covers were in but I had to go get my receipt from home despite living across town. I was unable to make the trip back again, and frustrated with the lack of communication from any of the staff, I had my mother bring the receipt the on either Jan 31st or Feb 1st where she was told refunds were done through the owner and we had to come back on Tuesday (Feb 4th). I felt as though chasing after a purchased product for over a month was unacceptable.
Today I showed up with my receipt to get a refund but the owner refused to do a refund and said I could either take the cover or get store credits of $70. This return policy was not disclosed upon purchasing the items. He refused multiple times to do the refund, implied we were lying about his staff saying to come in today for the refund, and would not apologize. His attitude towards me was very upsetting and intimidating. There was a small 3x5 sign directly behind him that started "Store Credit Only" that he later pointed out behind him. This sign is completely blocked when someone is standing at the register and is quite small and difficult to see among the many other flyers hanging on the same wall.
