Revdex.com:
Mr. [redacted] has complied with his responsibilities in resolving this matter and I am satisifed with his response

[redacted]'s facts are incorrect. Glazing lines were put on doors originally, and Valde corrected them to remove them. [redacted] took doors back to "fix" the cracking and peeling on the varnish. We did NOT approve them. We called [redacted] right away to inform him they were wrong. Cracked face down was never cracked before they took various masterbath doors for a total 4 times and colors still don't match.

In Response to [redacted], It is true that [redacted] did not do the glazing lines correctly and she needed a service. We took all the doors and fixed all the glazing lines correctly and resealed all the doors in conversion varnish and reinstalled all her doors. MY installers showed her and her...

husband  the doors before installing and they approved them. after installation I did a walk thru and the kitchen and laundry room looked beautiful. After the service she mentioned she didn't like the glazing lines and I reminded her that is exactly what you wanted to "fix the glazing lines and reseal all doors. Refer to my notes I attached. I also attached a text from her saying that she is ok with the glazing lines now and just want another service for her bathroom. I said ok and we service her on her bathroom a second time to fix color variations on the drawer faces from original job. I attached pic of the service needed. Then she mentioned a crack on a drawer face so I asked my finisher about it and he said it was already cracked originally. I am more than willing to buy a new drawer face for her and have it stained to match if she wants. To the Public: We do 100 kitchens a year and 95 customers are very happy. We receive many many referrals for our work.  Its my goal to try an get to 100% of all my customers happy.

Kitchen NOT services as to what we wanted. No glazing, we got glazing. 1st time around was done with glazing. [redacted] fixed them so there was no glazing. But then approx. a little less than one year and kitchen stated to crack and peel where he did the fix. Ken redid the crack and peel BUT they came back with glazing. I do not want him as a contractor to work on my cabinets with him telling me I’m crazy. And he does not stand behind his work. Also a 2 week project two times turned out to be 1 ½ months each time. I can afford or want to go thru and have them ALL redone properly by him. I would be happy to get a estimate from another company and at least have my bathroom done where at least the colors match. He does owe us a new bathroom face door as they cracked the existing.

Review: My name is [redacted]. I called Revdex.com on March 25,2015 and spoke with [redacted]. I was given a guideline on how to do this, [redacted] was very helpful and pleasant. She told me [redacted] has a active license.

This has been going on since Dec 17th 2013 our kitchen, 2 bathroom, and laundry cabinet doors were to be refinished. They were to be cherry (stain) color matched to a existed piece of our furniture. For a total of $8000. Striped, sanded, stained and then conversion varnish used. We approved a example door with no color difference around face of door (glazing). We were told 2 weeks start to finish once they came to our home and picked up doors. That 2 weeks turned out to be 1 ½ months. They fixed 2 of the workers sprayed varnish in the laundry room and did not cover my worker and dryer. Varnish was all over them. Head guy in charge [redacted] had to clean them once I pointed it out. ([redacted] no longer workers for Spectrum Painting I was told.) ###-###-#### # on his card. Also mo tape was used and stain was on my wall so [redacted] had to buy paint to cover the stain.

Doors finally put back on. At this point we told [redacted] that doors diff color. Nothing done. They had glazed then and [redacted] covered the glazing with stain. Almost 1 year went by and my cabinet door facings and some of the boxes started to chip and peel. Contacted [redacted] about the, Dec 5. Finally Dec 30, got him to come over and look at it. He said he saw the color diff on the cabinet doors and we showed him all the chipping and peeling. He told us another customer has the same problem. He said [redacted] did not sand them properly. [redacted] said 2 weeks to fix peeling and cracking on face doors. They picked up doors and did not fix any of the peeling boxes at that time.

Again a 2 week job ended being done in 1 ½ months.

March 4, 2015

Worker came with doors and while they were in the truck my husband and I told them did not look like stain go re-done and now there was black edging (glazing) on them that I had NOT wanted and was not there 1st time around. His installer agreed the stain colors were all diff. Called [redacted] told him not happy and to check his calendar to come look at them.

March 12, 2015

Never heard from [redacted]. I text him to check his calendar again so he could come see for his self. Asked him what our options were. [redacted] stated we approved doors with installers. We did the opposite. Told installers they weren’t suppose to have black edging and stain looked same. They installed anyways. [redacted] said if we wanted to change the original look then he would have to charge us. I said “They changed that original look and gave me black edging this time and was now told they did not re-stain.”

March 16, 2015

Text [redacted] to set up a date to come over, [redacted] replied he would be here March 25th at 9:00. Showed up @10:00 he got a late start.

[redacted] and us are not on the same page and need help resolving this. I asked him to look at the same he showed us. He does not have it either. He said we had black edging on the cabinets 1st time they did them. I said we did not. I pointed out each door that was not stained the correct color, which he saw. He said cabinets look great to him. I told him, yea if I asked for black edging and stain colors that don’t match. He said looks like we agree to disagree and I said we need a in-between-person so I would contact the Revdex.com to help us. At that point he said he would re-stain the master bathroom doors but not take off the back edging. Told him we both needed to think about things and touch base in a few days. He said he feels like we are taking advantage of him. I said we felt that same way also because we paid $8000 for a job not done right the 1st time and was to take 2 weeks and ended up bringing 1 ½ months. We were happy until they started peeling and cracking and the stain color never was addresses. And then to have them fix the 1st mistake (their fault) only to have them worked in again. A 2 weeks job into 1 ½ months and to STILL not have the satin color addressed and to receive them back black edging when there had been none to start with.

We have all the text messages in regards to this whole thing if you want them. [redacted], contradicts a lot of his statements in the text.

I want ALL my doors stained the same color and no black edging OR half my money back $4000, I really don’t want home working on my cabinets again. If he does them over and correct I want us to be priority and a guarantee of 2 weeks.

He took back the bathroom cabinets to restain.

They came back to us after looking them over before being installed they were ALL diff colors, not even close. Installer agreed. They were not installed. My husband right then and there called [redacted] and left a message that it was ridiculous that he would even send them to us like that. [redacted] text he would fix it. My husband said to inspect them before delivering them to us.

May 1st

Cabinets back to us for master bath. Varnish bubbles on 4 doors and color diff on one face. Send them back w/installer.

May11th

One doors face now broke and glued face door still 2 diff colors. We are done with him trying to fix.

So not want him working on cabinets anymore. Awful. Just money back to have redone or please post do not use him or his company. VERY UNHAPPY!

Unorganized

Keeps No Paperwork-Invoices

Not done on due dates given to us

Workers not on time

Workers talk bad about company

Customer should get what they asked for: not what he think looks good.

We have photos of diff colors.

Desired Settlement: So not want him working on cabinets anymore. Awful. Just money back to have redone or please post do not use him or his company. VERY UNHAPPY!

Review: Unauthorized charge to my credit card. [redacted], owner Master Craft, told me he needed the credit card to lock in the price of the cabinet refacing

I put in a online request for cabinet refacing. Master Craft Home designs was one of the companies that responded. I told [redacted] that I was collecting estimates, and wasn't sure when I would be ready to start the project. He gave me the estimate, and said I needed to give him a credit card number to lock the price he quoted in, which I did. I advised him that I was waiting for one more estimate and I would let him know. He then proceeded to call me several times a week to ask when they could start the job. I finally emailed him and told him not to call anymore and I would let him know when and if I was going to use his company, and if he did not hear from me by mid November that I was not going to do business with him. Today November 8th, I found a charge for $988.00 charged to my VISA. I called him and told him I wanted my money back and did not want to do business with his company. He called me crazy and said he could not trust ME, and did not want to do business with me either and said I only had a three days to cancel the contract and that had passed. He never agreed to refund the money, and at this point I'm not sure he will. I have filed a dispute with my bank, but thought Revdex.com should know that this company is being run in a shady manner.Desired Settlement: I want them to refund/ credit the $988.00 they charged to my VISA.

Final Consumer Response

The owner of Mastercraft, [redacted] finally refunded the money they stole from us, but not before trying to blackmail us in the form of stating they would refund the money if we removed a negative review we left on yelp! This company should not be in business in our opinion, they are unethical in their business practices!

Review: On 04/21/2014 [redacted] came to my home and offered his services using his contractors license #[redacted] to refinish my kitchen cabinets. The job turned out horrible and completely different than the color we chose. After multiple discussions, text messages, and emails it was apparent he did not have any concern for our satisfaction, nor did he offer a reasonable resolution but still wanted to get paid. Our contract was signed in my home for services to refinish our cabinets, and falls under the Home Solicitation Sales Act as a Home Solicitation Contract since it was for $4025 and signed in my home for his services. Since the contract we signed is not compliant and does not contain the required notice of cancellation defined in the Home Solicitation Sales Act, my cancellation rights are automatically extended beyond the standard three days in accordance with the Home Solicitation Sales Act. Since we felt Mr. [redacted] did not make any efforts to resolve the issue but instead threatened a lien on my property for his companys shoddy work, we had no choice but to protect ourselves and cancel the contract with [redacted] on May 28, 2014. Mr. [redacted] has yet to refund the $2012 we have paid him per the duties and responsibilities of the seller as defined in the Home Solicitation Sales Act after a home solicitation contract has been cancelled. As a side note - [redacted] owns both [redacted], and [redacted] but uses the same contractors license number for both. According to CSLB (Contractor State Licensing Board), [redacted] is the only designated named company for the license number shown on the attached contract, not [redacted].Desired Settlement: Refund of the $2012 paid to [redacted] based on my cancellation of the Home Solicitation Contract signed 04/21/2014
