Review: On September 3, 2013, I hired Mastercraft Masonry to replace my front steps, all sidewalks in front and on side of house and construct 4 steps and sidewalk for my backyard and install a drain basin in sidewalk. Upon completion of the job, [redacted] stated that they had trouble with the front step forms, the forms pulled away from the house while they were pouring the concrete. This caused them to have too reinforce the forms by bracing the 2x4s up against my side wall and into the ground. My side wall is only 2 foot high free standing stone. When we did the final walk through, I told [redacted] about all of the items I was not satisfied with. He said I could take some money off the final bill. I paid [redacted] on 9/25/2013 minus the $150.00. On February 1, 2014 I noticed a crack in my sidewalk that is right in front of the steps. It measures 71 inches long and it goes from one corner to the opposite corner. I called [redacted] to inform him of my situation and he said that "it was not his fault and most likely was bad concrete." He then stated that he would be out to look at it the following week. He never showed up and I called several weeks later and again he stated that he would come look at it. Again he never showed. On June 7th I found another crack, this time it spans the length of my bottom step where it meets the second step. I did not call [redacted] again. I see no point in doing that. Also the steps do not drain away from the house and back of steps like he stated they would and because of this there are puddles of water on my steps.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $500.00. I feel that the cement was only 5 months old and that the issues with the front step forms contributed to the problem.
