In the very beginning when I complained about the issue, MasterCraft offered me a 50% refundHe told me he would send me a check and he never did

Our tub is beginning to rust where he left it unpaintedIs there any way this could be expedited? As I said before, it will cost $to repair his errorIf I have it repaired; the third party will not see the problem

The customer claim that I had said that I removed all the chip filler I added is not true and inaccurate, in both of my previous replies there is no mention of all chip filler being removed, actually it is stated several times that chip filler was added to the chip area only and then sanded smooth, the customers claim on this is not trueThe pooling of water occurs further into the corner closer to where the side and back walls meet & where no filler existsOnce again, it is almost certain the true cause of this is the weight of the newly installed tub surround walls which consists of heavy sheets of concrete or tile backer board and the ceramic tileThe chip area itself was filled and sanded smooth and level to the surface of the tub located in the very front of the upper ledgeAnyone who would take their hand and rub over this area would see for themselves there are no high spots that would have any effect on water backing into the cornerThe tub itself has been lowered in the corner close to where the walls meetSince the Revdex.com does not make it a practice to schedule 3rd party inspections I do look forward to the mediation process to follow

There are no inaccuracies in the business response, my first response was very lengthy and specific as to what happened when I returned to the customers home back on August 25thThe customers most recent claim is not true and inaccurateThe photos do not show water puddling at the location of the chip that was filled with chip filler & sanded levelThe Revdex.com rep I have been in communication with has the pictures and she sees the same thing as I doThe chip filler was only used to fill the chip in the porcelain finish which is located in the very front of the top ledge where it is rounded and where the ledge & inner vertical tub wall meet in the rear right side of the tubThe pooling of water is located further into the corner closer to where the side and back wall meet, there is no chip filler located in the corner where the water collectsI personally believe more than likely the weight of the new tub surround walls which includes both concrete board and large pieces of ceramic tile has slightly lowered the corner of the tub, I am not 100% certain of this but I am 100% certain that no chip filler or putty has caused this problemOnce again there is absolutely no putty located further in the corner where the water collects and this fact could be proven if a 3rd party inspection took placeIf the Revdex.com were able to assign a 3rd party General Contractor or Inspector to go to the home to analyze the area being disputed & if the inspector determined that I did something to contribute to the water pooling in the corner I would be happy to refund 100% of the money the customer paid for the work plus pay for the inspection, however, if the inspector determines that I did nothing to contribute to this problem I believe it would only be fair for the customer to pay the inspectionIn order for me to pay anything on this I would require being able to be present during an inspection to allow me to show what I did and what I didn't do while working on this projectI am 100% confident that any inspection will show that Mastercraft has no responsibility for this problem areaI would welcome any inspection by a 3rd party to try and resolve this issue once and for all

The tub itself is level but the corner he worked on no longer has a fallWater puddles where he used too much puttyHis pictures show this problem, the blue part is his putty and there is still some in the cornerThere are some inaccuracies in the business responseNothing happened to the tub during the refurbishing of the bathroomThis is still not resolved

An agreement
has been reached between the business and the customer. Both parties
are satisfied with the outcome of this settlement

The tub refinishing was performed by Mastercraft for the customer issuing this complaint on July 26, 2016. The customer contacted me by phone on August 15, 2016 and claimed there was a problem in the back far corner of his bathtub where water has pooled in this corner close to where the tub and...

walls meet. The customer believed that a chip in the porcelain finish located in the front of the upper ledge where the ledge and inside wall of tub meet and had been filled by me with chip filler prior to the coating being applied had somehow caused water to pool in this corner of the tub &kept water from draining back into the tub. The actual chip occurred during construction of new tub surround walls that the customer had installed, I am not sure what object caused the chip but it may be possible that a sheet of the concrete board may have dropped on this area causing the chip to occur, but once again I am not certain on that but the customer did tell me that it happened during the wall installation. During our phone conversation I was trying to picture in my mind how this filled chip area which measures approximately 2 inches by 2 inches could have possibly caused water to pool in the corner of his metal bathtub. His claim really didn't make sense to me but the customer had a concern and I decided I would return to his home to look at this. We had scheduled for me to come back out to his home on August 25th. I do have 6 pictures of this area that I would be happy to share with anyone who would be interested in seeing them. It would help to provide a visual of my explanations and my points. When I arrived at the customers home I inspected this area and did notice a slight imperfection in the chip area that I initially had filled, once again an area measuring 2 inches by 2 inches, I sanded the chip further and added a  very small amount of the filler to fill 2 tiny spots and then proceeded to sand to make smooth & had all intentions on respraying the re-sanded chip area to repair the imperfection. As I was working on the repair I did mention to the customer that this wouldn't have any effect on the pooling water in the corner of the metal tub and the chip repair had nothing to do with the back corner of the tub being slightly lowered and collecting water. The customer claimed that something I did must have caused this problem, he said that I must have put more chip filler underneath the coating other than where the chip was located and twice requested  a full refund of what he paid for the job. I told the customer I would not provide the full refund & that I did the work  I was hired to do and did nothing to contribute to the corner of his tub being lowered and pooling water, I do tub refinishing and not structural repairs. The customer continued insisting that I added more chip filler to the surface of the tub other than where the chip was and sprayed over it with the coating. I once again told the customer that the chip filler was only placed in the chip and no where else and the pictures I have on file clearly show this. I had decided to try to prove to the customer what he was claiming was not true, I sanded additional coating from the surface to both the left and the right side of the chip to show him first hand the filler was only in the area of the chip, the filler is a light blue color and once again my pictures show this. After this once again the customer claimed I put more filler on the tub & was covered up with the coating I applied to the tub, at this point I told the customer he is free to use my sandpaper and sand off more coating around that area and if there is more chip filler that appears I would gladly refund 100% of his money, at this point he became very upset and yelled "I shouldn't have to do that" and moved very suddenly towards me and stopped about a foot away. At this time things became very tense and I was wondering if a physical altercation was going to take place. After about 45 seconds of standing in place I told him there was no filler hidden under the coating  and let him know I would refund all his money if he were able to see any after further sanding this area. The customer was very upset and asked me if I was going to finish my repair and told him yes, I had resanded the repair on the front corner of the top ledge and was going to then respray the repaired spot and the customer said that this would not keep the water from sitting in the corner and I said this is correct, I was hired to refinish the tub and not make structural repairs & that nothing I did in my work had anything to do with that corner of the metal tub being lowered. The customer then said were done, instructed me to get my things and to get out of his house. I packed up my equipment and left. There is no way humanly possible that spraying 3 coats of paint and a few ounces of chip filler could weigh down the corner of a metal tub and cant see how anyone could think that. The true cause of the problem would to be from 1 of 2 things, either as a result of the house settling over a period of time or in the opinion of a contractor I spoke with who shares my beliefs would be the weight of the newly installed tub surround walls that were put in prior to the tub refinishing, the customer installed new concrete board or tile backer board which usually is sold in 3'x5' sheets and are actually quite heavy, then factor in the thinset and then the ceramic tile itself, I'm not certain on the tile dimensions but I do believe they were 24"x6" pieces which also would add a tremendous amount of weight as well. One of the pictures I have on file shows this corner, the tile and the tub and tile wall sitting on the tub. Logic would clearly indicate the true cause of the corner of a metal tub being lowered and holding water, it is not possible for the coating sprayed on the surface and a few ounces of chip filler to cause this problem. Mastercraft acted in good faith, I returned to the customers home to repair the imperfection to the chip area and did everything within reason to resolve the issue, once again, nothing I did throughout the entire process contributed to the structural problem that the customer is for some reason trying to blame me for. I am confident that if this were a small claims court issue that it would be dismissed after 5 minutes.

In the very beginning when I complained about the issue, MasterCraft offered me a 50% refund. He told me he would send me a check and he never did.
