I called McCoy Plumbing for help with a toilet flange xxxxx came out and fixed it for me and also installed my new toilet at no extra charge McCoy is my only choice for plumbing from now on
I contacted McCoy plumbing to have a quote for a leaking water line going to my rental house The lady said the they were heading to another job in xxxxx and could stop to get a estimate(no cost) I also had another company give me an estimate by phone which came in at $150(also no cost for estimate) After lunch I had not heard back from McCoy so I called the office back and she said it had be fixed I said that I had asked for a quote and did not authorize any work She told me she would have xxxxx call me back In the mean time she sent and invoice for Mr xxxxx called back and told me they needed to dig up the yard and that they could do whatever they wanted to because I had called for an estimate and they did not need anything in writing to charge me I again told him I would not pay for work that I did not authorize and that I would have picked the other company or completed the job myself It is a PVC pipe that is less than inches underground that just needed a patch which could be fixed in less than an hour McCoy then had the office lady call a few more times for payment at which I told her the same thing that I would not pay for work I did not authorize Then they turned the bill over a guy who claimed to be from the accounting department but when I searched his number came back to a small collections company He threatened me a few ways including that if I did not pay that day I would have a lien placed on my house I did not send this to the Revdex.com at that time as I knew they would have to take me to court to actually put a lien on and they would not do that for I had several people that I had talked to during the day that could verify I was waiting to hear back on an estimate and had not authorized the work(tenant, other plumber and neighbor)
I decided that it was time to send in this report when I found out lady in my neighborhood had requested a quote from xxxxx and he had come out and without even digging in the yard told the lady she needed a $new waterline After I talked to her she contacted McCoy plumbing and told them that she was getting other quotes and they said they had already started by putting in to have the underground line marked She told them they were not to start and they should would can back if she did want them to do the job She then verified with that indeed the ticket had be put in
This seems to be a business pattern The use of collections agent for bill that were never authorized is crazyI would guess most people just give in and payPlease help other avoid this business and the headache of having to deal with them
