The business has responded.  Please see below:
On December **, 2014, [redacted], named insured, called her agent, [redacted]. [redacted] told [redacted] about an...

accident involving [redacted], her daughter, who was not a listed as a driver on their policy. We explained that [redacted] covered the claim for them, and [redacted] needed to be added as a driver. [redacted] has every right to add a driver that was involved in an accident in which they covered the claim. In this case, [redacted] paid out a total of $5,503.80. On January *, 2015, [redacted], named insured, sent [redacted] an email stating that he faxed over [redacted]’s license and school transcript for good student discount. In his email, [redacted] also stated that [redacted] drives 5 miles to college each way, 4 days a week. Once we received this information, [redacted] was added to the policy. She was added effective the day we received her license from [redacted], even though the original date of loss was December ** , 2014. Agencies do not need to have the named insured approval or have them sign any documents to add a driver, especially one that was involved in a covered accident. If our agency did not add [redacted], [redacted] would have added her regardless, without notifying the insured first. On February *, 2015, [redacted] emailed [redacted] saying he “just received a new bill with changes to my policy. Unfortunately, the policy is too expensive.” The insured acknowledged the changes done to the policy. [redacted] reviewed his account with other carriers, but prices were more expensive than [redacted] was charging, due to the recent accident. The insured contacted me on March **, 2015, voicing his concerns. I explained in great length everything listed above and reiterated that an insured signature is not required to add a driver. I advised the insured to pay the money owed to [redacted] to avoid being sent to collections. [redacted] then emailed my co-worker who is the commercial lines manager, and his email was referred back to me, the personal lines manager. I received his email on March **, 2015 and left a voicemail to call me to discuss this matter further. I did not receive a call back from [redacted]. On May **, 2015, he emailed the commercial lines manager once again, and it was referred to myself. This time I emailed the insured back giving him a breakdown of the billing and showing him why he owes this money. We recently learned [redacted] contacted [redacted] directly via a complaint on April **, 2015. [redacted] advised the agency that they explained to [redacted] that [redacted] was added and gave him a breakdown of the money owed. The bottom line comes down to [redacted] covered a $5,503.80 claim for undisclosed driver. In turn, the daughter needed to be added, and the insured owes the company the premium for that time. Masterson Insurance Agency, Inc. does not generate the premium bills and has NO authority to send an insured to collections. The amount of $443.74 is still owed to [redacted]. [redacted] sent the insured to collections for failure to pay premiums owed. If [redacted] and [redacted] can show an auto declaration page for [redacted] showing that she had her own policy from January *, 2015 to February **, 2015, [redacted] will remove her from the policy as a driver and adjust the premium. An ID card is not an accepted proof of insurance. [redacted] will require a declaration page with coverage and dates. In regards to the information above, we consider this matter to be closed. Once again we suggest [redacted] and [redacted] pay the $443.74 to the collection agency on behalf of [redacted]. The money is not owed to Masterson Insurance Agency, Inc.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]I asked Masterson Ins. What is the premium if we added [redacted]. They did not know, and Masterson Ins. asked to fax [redacted]'s docs. Masterson added [redacted] without informing me of the new quote, therefore I did not approve the new premium, and I was not informed of how much the added premium would be. I did not sign any doc. either. In addition, the amount [redacted] is claiming is erroneous.DO NOT DEAL WITH,MASTERSON INSURANCE in New York.

Review: I needed to add a driver into my existing policy, so I requested a quote from Masterson the agency. Three weeks later, the premium doubled on my next installment payment with [redacted] on 2/**/2015,WITHOUT my approval for the new quote to my agent.I immediately canceled my policy because of the new premuim rate on 2/**/2015, and paid my regular rate until 2/**/2015, but Masterson Insurance and [redacted] are still billing me for the new rate difference of the premium. I contacted Masterson and [redacted]s several times, and I even emailed [redacted] the [redacted] of the Agency to drop their claim, to no avail.[redacted]. policy [redacted].Desired Settlement: 1) Stop the action immediately from [redacted] - [redacted], to show a delinquency on my account, after it contacted a collection company [redacted] and make sure [redacted] is not reporting any negative report with the credit bureau companies.2) Have Masterson Insurance Agency contact [redacted] to reverse this outrageous action.
