Mastria Subaru attempted on numerous occasions to duplicate the intermittent concern that customer was describing. It was not present at time of vehicle inspection, at time of purchase, nor during any of her service visits. Customer eventually had the issue diagnosed at a [redacted] dealer....

Customer also had purchased an aftermarket vehicle warranty elsewhere, that would not cover the repair. The [redacted] dealer was incorrect in stating that it was an issue at purchase. Customer had driven vehicle over 20,000 miles in six months. Mastria Subaru did not mistreat customer in any way and attempted to assist her.

They was aware of the problem from the very 1st month of me being in the vehicle that they sold to me. As they stated they car came back to them numerous times , they could not fiqure out the problem. Now they are trying to blame it in the miles , it shouldn't matter how many times the vehicle been driven . The vehicle had a problem that they did not want to pay for from the beginning , now the vehicle does not drive at all . I am currently still making payments on a vehicle that I cannot drive . I would like my money back .

The customer’s claim that the dealership is “not offering to help at all” is entirely untrue. The customer purchased and took delivery of the vehicle in early August 2015, with 92,286 miles. After about a week and 463 miles, the customer contacted us with a dash light on and loss of power. When he...

experienced this issue, we responded right away and sent a tow to bring the car back to the dealership. We performed a minor wire repair to the throttle valve control which resolved the problem.Six months later, the customer contacted us again stating the engine had failed. Although he lives approximately 80 miles away, once again we sent a tow truck at no expense to the customer, to bring the vehicle back for diagnosis. Unfortunately, when the car came back to our service department, it had been disassembled, with numerous engine parts in boxes inside of the car; this made it impossible for us to even begin a diagnosis. At this point we recommended the customer consider an engine replacement and offered various options and pricing. Please note that since time of purchase the customer had put over 7,000 miles on the car, not the 4,000 he states. (Vehicle had 99,334 miles when we brought it in for diagnosis the second time.) Mastria Subaru fully serviced and inspected this vehicle before retailing it. We stand behind the vehicles we sell and consistently work with our valued customers to resolve any issues or concerns. We regret the customer’s situation and recognize that we have been unable to offer him a solution that he would find acceptable.
