Matcha

I signed up for Matcha around a year ago. It's a service that gives you access to a bunch of blogs that people in your product's demographic might be interested in. It allows for a small company like mine to more easily curate content on our social media pages. The cost of the service is 250 dollars per month which isn't an insignificant amount for a business of my size. Our social media contractor slowly stopped using Matcha over the last few months as we realized that the content wasn't creating the kind of engagement that we were looking for. I just now tried to cancel with the company and apparently all the blog posts that we have posted up until this point will disappear from our social media sites unless I pay $9/month, basically forever. This fee does essentially nothing other than allow us to keep our blogs. If we don't do this most of the content we've created this past year will now lead to a broken link. This was NEVER discussed during the initial sales calls when we went over all of Matcha's features. It may be in the fine print in their contract somewhere but this is clearly extortion. I would have never signed up if I had known that I would need to be a paying customer for the rest of my life. This is not a minor oversight by the sales team. Information like this needs to be presented front and center, not buried in a lengthy contract.
