New alternator failed while in Florida, and I had to get the car repaired in order to get home.On 7/31/2014 my wife and I were on our way to [redacted] Florida for vacation. While traveling through [redacted] MS, the alternator in our car failed. We were able to make it to the Mathis Tire and auto service center in[redacted]. The manager advised us they could not get to it until the morning of 8/1/14. After they replaced the alternator we were able to make it about 50 miles down the road when the alternator belt broke. We turned around and headed back to the service center. They replaced both belts and we were on our way. During our travels the alternator light came on intermittently. We were able to make it to [redacted] Florida. On 8/5/14 the alternator that was replaced by Mathis Tire and auto service failed. I was able to get it to the [redacted] service center in Kissimmee. The mechanic there confirmed that the alternator failed, and the belts were bad also. The same one that was replaced along with the alternator. I was under the impression h at Mathis was a goodyear service center and all the repairs would be covered by a warranty. The manager at [redacted] in Kissimmee called [redacted] and found out that Mathis was not a [redacted] service center, so none of the parts would be covered under warranty. [redacted] in Kissimmee was authorized by me to repair the car, as we had to get home. After I paid for the repairs, I called the Mathis Tire and Auto service center in [redacted] MS. I was advised by the manager that I would have to go to the main office in Memphis TN to see about getting any reimbursement. As we were on our way back to Kansas we passed through [redacted] TN about midnight on 8/8/14. We did not want to wait until 0830 hours in order to try and get the parts warrantied. I opted instead to try and deal with this by phone and email. I called the office in [redacted] TN at 5115 Park Ave, [redacted] TN XXXXX#(XXX) XXX-XXXX. I spoke with [redacted] general manager. He stated that the warranty was expressed and it was for local work only. I asked him what about people traveling through and break down in another state? He stated that we would have to get the car to one of their shops for warranty repairs. He also stated that we had no recourse be cause we did not bring the car to them or have the faulty alternator. Desired SettlementTo reimburse the cost of the faulty alternator and labor it cost to repair the car.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email:[redacted]@MATHISTIRE.COMDEAR SIRS, THE IS A CREDIT BEING ISSUED IN THE AMOUNT OF $462.43. As a customer that takes their vehicle in for service, I expect the company to practice with the highest of integrity, character, and morals. On Thursday, June 18th, I had a tire that was low and needed attention. I took it to the closest place- Mathis Tire & Auto Service in Bartlett. Once there it was brought to my attention that I was in need of four new tires, front/rear brakes, front/rear rotors along with some other repair needs listed below. Now my question was since I was just at [redacted]-Mt. Moriah three months for an oil change-why was all these preventive maintenance areas not noted so that I could start the process of taking care of my vehicle? I also looked back over my paperwork just to see when was the last time I had to get new tires and brakes. I was still not sure about the rotors because they have never been replaced, but I did not want to take the chance of needing drums or adding to an already lengthy list of preventive maintenance. Brakes and tires are the most important safety features on a vehicle. I did not want to take the chance of hurting myself or others so the new tires, front/rear brakes and front/rear rotors were performed by Mathis Tire & Auto Service. I asked the mechanic to put the used front pads/rear shoes, and front and rear rotors in my truck because I wanted to get a second opinion, but he did not. I did view the tires and brakes, but I am not a master mechanic so I was not sure the extent of the services needed. I should have taken pictures because there was a part of me that just did not trust the information I was getting. On Monday, June 22nd, I went to [redacted]-Mt. Moriah and Winchester Tire and Alignment to get a second and third opinion on the first three problems listed below. They both told me that my vehicle did not need front control arms with ball joints, front outer tire rods and front stabilizer links. Just as I had thought Mathis Tire & Auto Service was trying to rip me off even more than I suspected they already had. As a customer that takes their vehicle in for service, I expect the company to practice with the highest of integrity, character, and morals. Based on my experience, Mathis Tire and Auto Service did not meet my expectations as a reputable company that runs on integrity, good character, and morals. Problem QuantityDescriptionPart Labor Cost1. 2 Front control arms with ball joints x2 $829.78 $188.00 $1017.782. 2 Front outer tie rods x2 $119.98 $94.00 $213.983. 2 Front stabilizer links $139.98 $94.00 $163.994. 1 Front brake-pads $0 $0 $169.995. 2 Front Rotors $179.98 $0 $179.986. 1 Rear brake service $0 $0 $169.997. 1 Rear Rotors $159.98 $0 $159.988. 1 Brake flush $0 $0 $69.959. 1 Wheel Alignment-due to tie rod replacement $0 $0 $79.9510. 4 Tires- $839.88 $0 $907.6411. 4 Valve Stems Balance Tire (lifetime) $3.99 $12.95 $0 $67.7612. 4 Road Hazard Protection Policy $20.99 $0 $83.96Desired SettlementI am seeking a refund for the Front and Rear Brake Rotors. I know that they were unethical and it will be hard to prove that I actually needed to replace the front brake pads and rear brake shoes. But I do not believe that my rotors were so bad that they needed to be replaced. Thankfully, I did not let them perform the other repairs service indicated because it would have been hard to prove that they were not needed without getting a second and third opinion.Business Response To whom it may concern: Ms. [redacted] came into our Mathis Tire location at [redacted] XXXXX on 6/18/15. As stated in her complaint, our salesman took her out to her vehicle and showed her the repairs that were recommended. This is normal procedure. The estimate was given and she decided what was to be done before the repairs were begun. Brake rotors are to be replaced when their thickness are below the vehicle manufacturer's minimum specs. Also rotors will get hot spots or cracks requiring their replacement. As stated in her complaint tires and brakes are safety issues. Brake rotors should be included in the term brakes as a safety issue. We at Mathis Tire and Auto Service appreciate Ms. [redacted]'s business. Our warranty on the brake work is 12 months or 12000 miles whichever comes first. Also her tires carry a lifetime rotation and wheel balance warranty. If Ms. [redacted] doesn't feel comfortable returning to the Bartlett location, she can go to any of our 8 other locations. Also the three [redacted] locations will honor her warrantyConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I do not accept this written response from Mathis Tire & Auto Service Center because, I just do not trust the words that are coming out of their mouth. The only response I want is a refund for work that did not need to be done. The only reason they are explaining themselves now is that I have filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. I was not able to file any criminal charges against them because they have not broken the law. Unfortunately being a company that does not practice good ethics and morals is not reason enough. I am going to make contact with my Congressman and share my experience. When the manager called me Friday, I should have hung up the phone after he identified himself, because there is nothing I have to say to him. What would make him think I would want him to re-inspect my vehicle when I have gotten two opinions that said the repairs are not warranted at this time? I thought they were trying to rip me off long before I got the second and third opinion. I am thankful that I did not let them complete the work. I regret the fact that I had to have them to complete the work they did. I did not give them permission to complete all of the work like he states. Only the tires, brakes, rotors, front stabilizer and wheel alignment initially. But after I started to really think about all of the charges I told them to hold off on the front stabilize and wheel alignment. The mechanic did not put his name on the paperwork that listed all of the repairs needed. I had made arrangements to get those two opinions because I did not trust this company(salesman and one of the mechanics) even as the work on my vehicle was being completed. The mechanic that actually completed the work appears to have done his job appropriately.Final Business Response Mrs. [redacted] came in our store on 6/18/15 and was inquiring about tires for her [redacted]. I gave her some options and prices on a set of 4 tires and she said that she preferred [redacted] tires, which we put on her vehicle. When we took the tires off, we noticed her brakes were almost metal to metal both front and rear and that she had some slack in the front lower control arms. We brought Mrs. [redacted] in the shop to show her what we found during the inspection and she initially said to go ahead and do ALL of the repairs. After we tore the brakes down, she had told us to cancel the repairs and we told her that we already had the old brakes off and she said to ONLY do the brakes and the tires and NOT to do the front end repairs. Mrs. [redacted] had wrote a complaint to the Revdex.com and it said that she got a second opinion about the control arms and the other shop said that she did not need to replace them and she thought that we were trying to "rip her off". I called Mrs. [redacted] in the morning of 7/24/15 in response to the Revdex.com complaint and told her that we would never try to rip anyone off and that's why we brought her to the shop to show her the brakes and control arms so she could see it with her own eyes. I invited her to come back in to the shop and we would put her vehicle back on the rack and show her again why we recommended the repairs on her vehicle and explained that the damaged front end parts could have a dire effect on the premature wearing of her new tires that she bought from us. She agreed that she would bring her vehicle back in for re-inspection at her earliest convenience.[redacted]Store ManagerMathis Tire - BartlettXXX-XXX-XXXX

I have been a customer with Mathis for about a decade. The Mt. Moriah location and the location not for from Wolfchase mall on Highway 64. Around 10 years ago I bought a car care package from them that includes among other things oil changes for life. I trusted them but the last year ended that trust.
I started getting them to work on my wife's car last year and the car still doesn't run as well as it did before they got their hands on it.
I took MY car in for my usual oil change this last time and I get home to find oil POURING out of my car a few days later. I take it back and they say that the gasket/oil drain plug is stripped out. They recommended a new oil pan. I decided to take it somewhere for a second opinion. The other place was able to re-thread the hole and put in an adapter to keep the oil from leaking. Who stripped the threads? Well only Mathis had changed my oil for nearly a decade. And they didn't even offer to fix it. I guess I can't even trust them for an oil change","neg-1

I injured my front passenger tire in an accident and required a new tire, rim, and valve change. December 16, 2015, I was ran off the road on my way to work and in the process I damaged the front passenger-side tire. I have a 2013 Smart Car Fortwo Pure and was recommended by another Smart car owner to get service from Mathis Tire on 5975 Bartlett Center DR because they are knowledgeable of the make and/or model. On good faith I towed my vehicle to them in hopes that I would receive the best care possible. Bryan D. B[redacted] was my salesman who initially said, I would need a new steel wheel rim, tire valve, and wheel aliment because of the extensive damage upon my wheel. The total cost including other services was $555.72. Since my rim was not in stock it was shipped from another company not specified where and because of this he told me I would need to pay them upfront in cash before they could work on my car it was stated that when my rim comes in that day the deliver guys would need their money too. I asked if I could wait until that Friday to pay them, but Bryan was adamant about receiving the total due. I paid them on good faith that I would get the best care from their senior mechanic and that my car should be done before Christmas or a l[redacted] bit after Christmas. Four or five days past and I have not received word about my rim so I called them asking if they received yet and the answer is no that it was on route. I asked them why is it taking so long and they could not give me a straight answer regarding my rim. On December 24, Mark called me and said my rim was put on back order again and that the following Monday I should receive it. On Monday I got a call saying that my rim came in and I could pick up my car that day. While I was there I asked what the reason was it took so long, a mechanic told me it was due to my rim being put on back order and then lost on route so it had to get reshipped. The next day I drove my car to work, the store, and home with no problems. When I came back outside to get my bags I notice that the same tire I got fixed was on flat. I took a picture of the damage and called Mathis Tire. They assured me that it shouldn't have happen and patronized me by asking if I ran into another curb damaging my wheel again. The (new) tire I purchased has a white circle around where the seam was busted like someone drove it on flat, which that tells me that the new tire I was stated to have bought was never put on my car. They told me that they gave me a faulty tire valve and that my tire and valve would be replaced for free. I then specified that I paid them upfront and that I should not be having problems within the 24 hour period. They paid for my car towing to their store and assured that it would be fixed the next day (Wednesday). Wednesday, Louis called me and told me that my valve was the problem and also I would need a new TPM (Tire pressure monitor) since it was damaged due to my tire going flat and that would be an additional $100 dollars to fix it. He told me that I would need that fixed because it keeps the air from leaking out and that it was on because it was broken. I said to just fix what initially should be fixed and that I would be picking my car up after work. When I arrived to pick up my car, Lewis, the store manager stated, "I damaged the TPM". I do not believe that is so. My paid tire did not look brand new after it was towed back the second time. I noticed the rigged edges around the wall. I asked Mr. Lewis about this. He stated, he will replace this tire again. As of now, I have not been satisfied with their services. My complaint is the lack of care in repairing my car. The lack of integrity from Mathis employees inconvenienced me for 4 weeks. As of January 2, my tire is not fixed correctly. I have taken a picture of my wheel daily until it is fixed. It should not have taken so long for my tire to fix it and the fact that whoever changed my tire messed up and cost my TPM to become damaged is a problem also and Mathis is no longer receiving my services. My invoice # XXXXXXXX.Desired SettlementI asking for reimbursement on the tire (155/60TR15 Contiprocontact BW74T) and valve stems/TPMS reset I purchased on 12/16/15 for $116. 97 (tire) and $3.99 (Valve stem/TPM reset). I also would like compensation for my broken TPM in the front-side passenger wheel due to their mechanics incompetence and negligence fixing my tire the first time.Business Response Mathis Tire and Auto Service Inc. would like to apologize for Ms. [redacted]'s inconvenience in this matter. However, we are not able to control the shipping of any parts from out of town. Ms. [redacted] was not charged for any labor, tow or tire on the second occurrence. The tire pressure monitor sensor was leaking. She refused to pay to replace the tire pressure sensor. The tire pressure sensor was never billed to her. In order to stop the leak, we replaced it with a valve stem. We believe the charges are correct and not to be refunded. Mathis Tire and Auto Service Inc. has a 12 months or 12000 mile warranty. If she does not want to return to this location, the warranty is good at our other 8 locations. Also, the warranty is good at the 3 locations for Direct Tire Distributors Inc.

Mathis tire was suppose to install new struts and parts on my 18 year old son's car. Parts were never installed. March 19th, I took my son's car into Mathis Tire in Collierville TN. I was told it needed new struts as well as several other new parts. Due to the fact that my son had to return to UT the next day , I told them to please fix it . They finished the repairs 30 min after the shop was suppose to close for the day. I was charged 2, 900 dollars. My husband picked up the car and on the way home he noticed it was still making the same noise. He called the assistant manager, Grant Bush whom we had been dealing with all day. Grant told my husband that he had personally inspected the car and all had checked out. We still felt uneasy about having our son drive the car back to UT. Mathis tire was closed the next, so we got up at 7:00 and started looking for a Firestone location that could maybe check out the rattle before we sent our son on the 6 hr trip back to UT. The Firestone on Winchester was able to check out the car. Before they put the car on the lift we expressed our concerns and showed them all the new parts that were put on the day before. Firestone informed us that the struts and some other parts were not new . They still had manufactured stickers on them and were the original 2012 parts. My huband took pictures and Firestone managers documented their findings in writing. We were APPALLED that we had been charged for work and parts that were NEVER put on the car. My husband cancelled his flight for work the next moring . I had to drive my son to Knoxville because it was too dangerous for him to take his car. My husband was at Mathis Tire in Collierville the next morning when the store opened with the car, pictures and firestone note. Grant was not in ...but Chris, the Manager was. He put the car on the lift and confirmed that the parts were never changed. He started yelling at his mechanics and supposedly called in Grant. My husband explained that Grant had assured him that he personally inspected the car after the parts were put on. Chris the manager said he would make it right by fixing the car and giving us the total 2,900.00 refund. My husband stayed there and watch for the next 6 hrs while they repaired the car. The struts had to be brought in from another place so they waited on the parts for about two hours. Chris the manager kept saying that Grant the assistant manager was on his way. In the meantime we found out from a mechanic that the head mechanic had ordered the struts on Saturday when we had first brought the car in but Grant the assistant manager had SENT them back when they arrived. GRANT had swiped our credit card for parts he knew were NEVER put on the car and labor he KNEW had not been done and then assured us he had self inspected the job. Chris assured us Grant would not be working for Mathis tires in the future but that he would have to go through proper channels to fire him. When all was completed...we pulled out our credit card for the total refund. Chris Barnes then proceded to tell us that the only one who can give us a refund is the General Manager who is in Mexico and will not answer phone or email until he returns on Wednesday. We find this very hard to accept but he will not budge on that statement. He tells us he promises to make it right and he will talk to him and get our refund Wed. Well , it is now Monday ...one week since the car NIGHTMARE!!!! We call everyday and get the run around either Chris never calls back or he is still waiting on General manager etc.... and Grant answers the phone. I finally went to the store to find and talk to the general manager Curtis Clifton myself. He would not see me but after two hrs. a store employee gave me a partial refund!!These people lie and cheat. They put lives in danger everyday . Not sure how they sleep at night.Desired SettlementI want a full refund that I was told I would get on all parts and services performed on March 19, 2016 on my son's 2012 Dodge charger work order XXXXXXX We were told by Chris Barnes the morning of March the 21st that he would make things right and issue a 2,900.00 refund. That is why we let him fix the car.....However 6 hrs later he told us he did not have the authority to do that and the only person who could was out of the country and unreachable. He wrote on our receipt that he would speak to Curtic Clifton his general manager ASAP when he returned to get out money back. Then Chris Barnes never called nor returned our calls. After a week I went to the office of Crutis Clifton myself who refused to talk with me..but kept calling Chris Barnes about the issue. After two hrs...of me sitting up there waiting to see him he sent someone out to give me a partial refund 1353.84. I told this person I needed a complete refund as promised...he said please do not be mad at him he is only the messenger and Curtis would not see me. I am still owed $1637.13. These people will not return my calls and I do not know what else to do. I wonder if Walter Mathis knows how crooked his employees are.....Or maybe he is in on it too.Business Response To whom it may concern: Mathis Tire and Auto Service Inc. regrets the confusion on the customer's billing error. The refund of $1353.64 was for the parts that were disputed. The remainder of the bill was for replacement of the tires, front and rear brake pads and four brake rotors. These parts were not disputed. Also, take note that the disputed parts were installed two days later at no charge. Certainly any distress that Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] experienced should have never occurred. However, it is our opinion that no more credit should be issued. Mathis Tire and Auto Service Inc. has a 12 month or 12000 mile warranty (whichever comes first). This warranty is honored at the 12 area locations. Also the warranty is good at the 3 Direct Tire Distributors Inc. stores.

Charged thousands of dollars for repairs that did not fix the original problem.I went into the Wolfchase store with a noise in the front drivers side. After thousands of dollars spent I was sent away with nothing they could do. I went to the Shelby Drive store with a blown tire. Purchased a new tire and ask for a front end alignment. No alignment was documented so when I had a blown tire again the Wolfchase store refused to replace the tire(s) under road hazard due to no alignment was documented. There is a pattern of poor practice of charging the customer as much as possible. I contacted the Park Store, the headquarters. I was ask to come up because the Wolfchase store had been involved in bad practice and the manager and staff was let go. They wanted to fix my car that Wolfchase did not fix, the noise in the front end. They wanted to fix it at no cost because of all I had been through. Today I go in for the appointment to have the car looked at. I was Charged 312 dollars because the part that was broken was not one of the parts Wolfchase had replaced. So again Mathis has managed to continue their poor service. People came while I was the for routine service and they complained as well about getting told they had to have repairs done for their safety. I dont trust any thing Mathis does. They ran up my credit account over the limit with repairs that may not have been necessary. I will never know. But I will say Mathis will not get another dime from me. By the way my car is a 2012.Desired SettlementI feel that if the ball joint that I paid 312 dollars today for is what stopped my noise, then I want to be refunded for all the repairs Wolfchase did (replacing axles, struts, etc). I want my tires to be covered by the warranty, I had no control over the documenting of work that was susposed to be done on my car at Shelby Drive.Business Response To whom it may concern. Mr. [redacted] has been called today at XXX-XXX-XXXX and XXX-XXX-XXXX. Both calls went to voice mail. We apologize for his problems with our service. Hopefully upon conservation with Mr. [redacted] these problems will be resolved.

I took my vehicle to Mathis Tire for a routine oil change and tire rotation on 08/15/2013. I dropped off my vehicle around 0659 and picked up around 1431. Several hours after picking up my vehicle I went into to console of my car and found it in disarray. I noticed by TOM TOM detachable GPS with attachments was missing. I called Mathis the next morning to report my missing merchandise. I spoke to Sales Manager, [redacted] and he asked for the Mechanic ID number on my receipt which is # 1011. I was placed on hold and when he returned he ask does my tires require a key to unlock. I didnt not know is what I told him. He reported that if a key is required to unlock my tires then there would have been a need for a technician to go in my console compartment. I told him I dont think so. I have been to this store for oil changes for years and I technician should have check to computer before going thru the console. He reported stepping in for the regular manager who was out on medical leave. I got the name of the district manager and phone number. I called the district office and spoke to [redacted] who reported the district Manager is [redacted]. I requested that the video be witnessed to the worked completed on my car and to check if anyone went thru my console compartment. **. [redacted] stated that **. [redacted] is the only person to look at the video and that he would be out until next Friday, August 23,2013. No other solution offered by either Mangers.Desired Settlement$100.00 Gift Card- [redacted] or [redacted]Business' Initial Response I spoke with **.[redacted] today, she will be getting a gift card for $100 from a store of her choice. She will be bringing the receipt to our store to be reimbursed for it today.

Business will not stand behind products or services sold or performed by past employees.Invoice XXXXXXXX.After I replaced struts and shocks I went to Mathis May XX XXXX for 4 tires and an alignment. About 3000 miles later October XX XXXX I returned for tire rotation. Front tires were ruined from an improper alignment. They would not honor alignment because it was after 30 days. They would not honor any compensation for ruined tires. I could not speak to anyone that was employed there when original service was performed as they claimed to have a complete change of staff in June. They said the alignment was out of warranty and the tires were not road damaged. I can understand the 30 day warranty on the alignment if the vehicle is driven but that would have been less then 700 miles. As a retired technician I can tell you on a mechanical piece of equipment for a mechanical warranty to mean anything the equipment has to be operated. I can understand under severe conditions a wheel can be knocked out of alignment but again as an experienced technician the same alignment setting on both front wheels would be highly unlikely. This is not the first time I have had this type of issue with this business. But it was a few vehicles and a number of years ago. It was obviously my mistake for assuming that the owner(s) would have resolved this to still be in business. The web site printed on their invoice is a company in Massachusetts that does not list the Mathis location. Their explanation was that its a sister company ? Their actual site links to a google+ account. I had to use a google+ account to log on. The post button on their google+ review did not function. Imagine that. I can only assume they still hide behind staff changes and outdated, incorrect or invalid information supplied to their customers.Desired SettlementI expect full refund on 2 of each of the following (tires, valve stems, lifetime tire balance, disposal fee, state fee, road hazard protection) and 4 wheel alignment. As a retiree on a fixed income this will allow me to have the two tires replaced and wheel alignment performed properly at another business.Business Response WE HAVE REVIEWED MR. [redacted] COMPLAINT AND ALL INDICATIONS FROM HIS HISTORY, WE DID NOT SEE ANY REASON WHY THE ASSOCIATE COULD NOT DETERMINE THE ROAD HAZARD ADJUSTMENT PROTOCAL. WE SISVERALY APOLAGIZE FOR ANY FRUSTRATIONS ON SUCH A CLEAR AND EASY PROCEDURE WE THAT IS PART OF OUR DAILY BUSINESS. AS ALWAYS WE APPRICIATTE ANY INFO FROM OUR CUSTOMERS (GOOD OR BAD) SO WE CAN MAKE CORRECTIONS AS NEEDED. WE HAVE CALLED MR. [redacted] TO GET FURTHER INFO TO COMPLETE OUR PROCESS & TO GET A TIME AND DAY THAT IS CONVENENT FOR MR. [redacted] TO GET HIS TIRES AND ALIGNMRNT REPLACED. AGAIN, WE APOLIGIZE FOR HIS FRUSTRATION AND THANKS FOR LETTING US KNOW WHEN ABOUT HIS CONCERNE. WE LOOK FORWARD TO MAKING IT RIGHT WITH OUR CUSTOMERS AND APPRECIATE ANY BUSINESS THAT WALKS THROUGH OUR DOORS. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I discovered that I had received one phone call in which a voice mail was left. I returned the phone call. The first time an employee stated a Mr C[redacted] has his calls screened and that he was on a conference call and he would return my call. My phone call was never returned. I called again. This time when an employee answered he said Mr. C[redacted] wasn't in and would return my call. Again the phone call was not returned. I suppose someone doesn't understand the records of these calls are permanent as I only have a cell phone. I can only assume at this point that the business has no intention of correcting any errors caused by them and the only reason they responded to the Revdex.com was an attempt to clear their record.Final Consumer Response 12/02/2015 There seemed to have been a communication gap that has been resolved. I spoke with a Mr. Curtis C[redacted]. He was more than understanding and congenial. We have come to a very acceptable and agreed upon resolution. At this point I am very pleased with the outcome of what began as a very troubling event. I am looking forward to resuming business with [redacted] Tire with an expectation of exceptional service.

On 5/30/15 she had an oil change and some of the recommendations listed on her invoice #XXXXXXXX were struts and an oil pan gasket. These repairs were done on 10/03/15. Efforts to reach Ms. [redacted] by phone have gone to voice mail and have not been returned. Our warranty is for 12 months or 12000 miles whichever comes first. Ms. [redacted] can call our store at XXX-XXX-XXXX and make an appointment to see about her concerns. Our store manager knows about this complaint. Six months have elapsed since the repairs were done and no complaint of noises noted since. Because of these facts we feel no refund is warranted.

Car was taken to another shop where car was diagnosed and determined to need spark plugs ($30.00), an ignition coil#3 ($65.00) and exhaust leak repairs ($150.00). Corporate office was contacted (spoke wtih Mr. [redacted] and advised that car was taken to another shop. I was instructed to fax information to the office. Information was faxed on February 16, [redacted] Followed up with office and was told we will review and get back with you. No contact at this point. Desired SettlementRequesting reimbursement for repairs or that my account at [redacted] is credited for charges encountered and arm rest is replaced. Business Response To it may concern: A 2002 Nissan Maxima was towed to our Mathis Tire and Auto Service location at [redacted] XXXXX. The vehicle had a locked up motor. We proceeded to search for a motor. Ms [redacted] chose a used motor for replacement.Tires and other parts were needed and approved by Ms [redacted] before starting the repairs. Upon getting the vehicle to run, the alternator was not operating well enough to keep the battery charged. Ms [redacted] was notified and approved the repair. The vehicle was towed in 3 days later. At this time the vehicle had run out of gas. We put some gas in the vehicle which got it started. A diagnostic was run at that time and nothing else was needed. Six weeks later, the vehicle was towed in again. It started with us. We had the customer and her son blow into the court mandated lock out system (breathalyzer). Again it started. We performed diagnostics and didn't find any problem. This time the customer stated there was a vibration when stopped/idling. We determineded the front motor mount with sensor needed to be replaced. The next day, Ms [redacted]' son called and said the vehicle would not start after visiting some friends. We towed the vehicle into our shop. We kept it 3 days and repeatedly the vehicle started. We drove the vehicle numerous times and it never died. We checked all electrical connections that were disconnected when the engine was installed. No issues were found. During this time, Ms [redacted]' son had become agitated and physically threatened our store manager by putting his hands on him. A no trespass [redacted] with the police was placed on Ms [redacted]' son. We will gladly honor our warranty as stated on the original invoice (24 months or 24000 miles whichever comes first). We have 9 [redacted] Tire and Auto Service and 3 [redacted] locations in the [redacted] area. However, Ms [redacted]'s son will not be allowed in our stores.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)No I do not accept the response. This is not an accurate account of what I was instructed to do. I was told there is nothing that they could do to correct the issues. As a result I took the car to another shop for service. I am still requesting to be compensated for cost incurred and replacement of the arm rest. Final Business Response To whom it may concern: Upon further review, our management has agreed to send a check to Ms [redacted] in the amount of $269.38.This amount is full payment of one of her submitted invoices. Also, the coil (including tax) listed on the other invoice is paid. We regret any distress to MS [redacted] this matter has caused.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)Check has been received for additional cost incurred.

This is an update of complaint sent yesterday (08/22/2013). We purchased two RV tires for $889.94 plus tax. Mathis attempted to mount tires that were three years plus five months old. They eventually found two newer tires and mounted those. They then balanced the tires, at a charge of $21.90 plus tax, and balanced them incorrectly. The following day we stopped at another tire dealer where the tires were balanced correctly, at a cost of $32.70. A request to Mathis for a refund of balancing charges was refused. We request a refund of balancing charges of $21.90 plus tax from Mathis. And we would hope that they don't try to sell old tires in the future. Thank you.Product_Or_Service: RV tiresOrder_Number: Invoice # [redacted]Desired SettlementRefund of balancing chargesBusiness' Initial Response I spoke with [redacted] today, we will be reimbursing her credit card in the amount of $32.70.

Went to Mathis in Bartlett on Saturday morning to get flat fixed on wifes Subaru.
Was informed that puncture was too big to fix and need to buy new tire. They
didn't have tire, so after waiting for about 30 minutes, they gave price of ONE tire
at over $ 180 bucks. I had already "googled" on my iphone, price of this tire,
name brand, mounted to be about 110.00. Told Mathis to just put on my spare.
They did, and charged me 20 bucks.
Monday morning took vehicle to Subaru Dealer. Fixed flat. Turned out puncture was
well within limits allow to patch. Mathis was looking to rip me off.","neg-2
