Review: This was the second time I used the services of Mathnasium for my eleven year old son. The first time I was very happy with the results. This time there was a different person in charge and the results were not good at all. My son was started out with problems that were way too easy for him. When I complained about this they said it was just temporary and he would progress fast but they just wanted to make sure he didn't miss anything. They have rewards when the kids do well and they are able to earn prizes. But they only prizes they seem to have are candies. Every day my son was earning one or two big boxes of candy. When I complained they said that was all they had left but when it was restocked it was still only candy with a few other things that weren't interesting to my son. Even if he tried saving them for a more expensive prize it was still mostly cookies, chips or candies. It seems that they could find something that would be of interest besides candy! When he finally advanced to harder math problems, then he didn't understand it and complained that they didn't explain it to him. That was at the end of the first month and I decided to take him out but let him try it a few more times. So he ended up going 3 times into the next month. I asked for a refund and was told I would have to pay for the full month because he had gone three times. When he started it was the 7th of January, 2016, and they prorated the month for him and charged me $170.00 When he stopped it was the 9th of February, 2016, and they charged me $255.00. This does not seem quite fair to me. They said because he had gone past the first month I had to pay a full month and that I could go ahead and send him for the rest of the month since I had to pay for it. Well, I didn't think they were helping him at all so why would I do that? The person in charge was very hard to talk to, and I would have quit sooner but was trying to catch her supervisor, which I had to call another store to do.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the last month my son was there prorated and a refund for the rest of the month. When I signed up I had to pay for 6 monthes in advance. I received a refund for $834.70. So was charged $170. for January 2016 and $255. for February 2016. So I figure I should get another refund of about $170.00.

Response:
Ms. [redacted]'s son [redacted] did wonderfully well at Mathnasium, advancing 2 full grade levels in just 69 days of attendance. We are very proud of [redacted] but at the same time we’re sorry that, in spite of this success, Ms. [redacted] is so dissatisfied with our staff and service. As a result, we are more than willing to refund the $170 requested in order to resolve this matter, and we thank the Revdex.com for giving us an opportunity to make this right.
