On 6/17/I replied to an email sent by [redacted] about installing his exhaust partsI told him I was guessing about $to $but once we looked at it we would give him an exact quote(Copy of email is enclosed) So the approximate $email quote was not a guaranteed priceHe did have the option of not having repairs done if he felt the price was out of lineAfter the exhaust was installed [redacted] did inspect the system and did “smack the exhaust on the bottom sideIf the something would have been loose it would have rattled at that point in time [redacted] did send an email on 7/5/at 6:20pm that I did not open until 7/6/in the morning when I got to the shopHe did state that the exhaust fell off but never mentioned anything about it being loud or anything about a fire underneath the car, and to my knowledge he did not call the shop to state anything about the exhaust being loudAlso looking at the pictures that [redacted] sent I do not see a broken clamp or any sign of a damaged clampI did ask him to bring the car in so we could look at it and [redacted] stated he had moved out of the state and could not bring it back in but he would send estimates [redacted] asked me if there was a better phone number to reach me at and I gave him the Racine number 262-633-and the Lincoln Ave shop where I have been spending most of my days 414-643-And to the best of my knowledge I never received a call from him.It is unfortunate that he had a problem with his exhaust, but if something would have been left loose the system would have rattled or fell off right awayFor all I know he ran over something on the highway to cause his damage

The exhaust clamps he's referring to are just like the clamps that Magnaflow exhaust uses and in the instructions it does not say to hand tighten and it also states to recheck tightness after 25-miles.Thank You*** ***

As previously stated after we installed his exhaust parts he came out and inspected the system and actually smacked the bottom of the exhaust system and heard it runningThere was no mention of anything being loose or loud at this point in timeHe states that the clamps were supposed to be hand tightened only When he brought us his parts to be installed all he brought us was the pipes and mufflers and clamps, we were not given an instruction sheet that states the clamps should only be hand tightenedWe install Magnaflow exhaust systems and they use the same style clamps that he supplied us withI never said his clamps where magnaflow clampsThe instructions that are supplied with a Magnaflow system states the recommended torque on them and they should be rechecked after to milesTo the best of my knowledge he did not bring his car back to us for any reason, leaks in system, check rattle or retighten any clampsWhen he called a week later and said the exhaust had fallen off he sent picturesThe pictures where not that clear and from what I did see the clamps did not look damaged from over tighteningIf there were over tightened all the clamps should have failedI did tell him to bring the car back in so we could inspect it and he said he could not do to the fact that he moved out of stateHe did send repair estimates to me for the repairs but I never agreed or told him we were going to take care of the repairs.I stand with my previous response; we are not going to pay for the repairs on his carHe inspected his car before it left our shop and made no mention of anything being wrong with the installation of his parts.*** ***

*** ***"s Pontiac is currently at our shopLooking over the used part we installed, I don't see anything wrong with the cradle. The noises she is hearing is not coming from the front of the car, It seems to be in the back somewhereWe are at this time looking for the source of the noise
The parts and service we did is installed correctly and is functioning properlyIf she would feel more comfortable with us getting a different used cradle frame, I will be willing to do so. *** *** Vice PresidentWisconsin Muffler,Tire & Auto LLC (414) 427-

10:AM (minutes ago)to meIn response to the claim by the Wisconsin Muffler of New BerlinWhen I arrived, they asked if they could look at the exhaust system to determine if they could install itOnce they looked at the exhaust system they agreed to enter into a contract with me to install the exhaust system but raised the quoted price by over $50, which is illegalI still consented for the workThe owner claims that I ran over something to cause the exhaust to fall offI did not run over anything and the the exhaust fell off of my vehicle no more than yards outside of my house which is a two lane highway with a speed limit of mph. The owner claims that the if I ran over something it would cause the exhaust to fall offIt is not and customary for any portion of a vehicle to fall off if it is in fact safe to be operated on the road per the DMVThe exhaust system was not installed correctly because the exhaust clamps were not tightened properly. I not only witnessed that my exhaust clamps were not tightened properly (because Will, the technician, used an air impact wrench instead of hand torquing) but have proof of its poor installation by another patron who was there and watching at the time of service. I sent pictures of the exhaust on the ground and the damaged bumperI am asking that the bumper be fixed as Dale agreed to doOnce he saw the price of the repair, I could no longer reach him.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] The exhaust clamps are not magnaflow exhaust clamps; therefore, any following the instructions for a different product from a different manufacturer does not make sense. No instruction was given by Wisconsin Muffler or associate technician that any other care would be necessary if I would even consider accepting the instructions for a different product from a different manufacturer. Once the exhaust system was properly installed, the sound of the vehicle completely changed and was as the manufacturer of the exhaust specified.     I will not be satisfied until repairs for the damaged bumper are completed on my vehicle as the owner, (one of the owners) D[redacted], agreed to over the phone.

On 6/17/2017 I replied to an email sent by [redacted] about installing his exhaust parts. I told him I was guessing about $85 to $100 but once we looked at it we would give him an exact quote. (Copy of email is enclosed)  So the approximate $100 email quote was not a guaranteed price. He...

did have the option of not having repairs done if he felt the price was out of line. After the exhaust was installed [redacted] did inspect the system and did “smack the exhaust on the bottom side. If the something would have been loose it would have rattled at that point in time. [redacted] did send an email on 7/5/2017 at 6:20pm that I did not open until 7/6/2017 in the morning when I got to the shop. He did state that the exhaust fell off but never mentioned anything about it being loud or anything about a fire underneath the car, and to my knowledge he did not call the shop to state anything about the exhaust being loud. Also looking at the pictures that [redacted] sent I do not see a broken clamp or any sign of a damaged clamp. I did ask him to bring the car in so we could look at it and [redacted] stated he had moved out of the state and could not bring it back in but he would send estimates. [redacted] asked me if there was a better phone number to reach me at and I gave him the Racine number 262-633-6276 and the Lincoln Ave shop where I have been spending most of my days 414-643-5464. And to the best of my knowledge I never received a call from him.It is unfortunate that he had a problem with his exhaust, but if something would have been left loose the system would have rattled or fell off right away. For all I know he ran over something on the highway to cause his damage.
