This customer purchased siding, windows and gutters from us in 2005. At the time of his contract, the following language governed the coverage of labor warranties: For a... period of one (1) year from installation (if Product was installed) or delivery of Product(s), Weather Tight will service the Manufacturer's Warranty. To service the Manufacturer's Warranty means to provide the labor, parts, and material necessary to repair or replace the Product(s) according to the terms, conditions, limitations, and restrictions of the Manufacturer's Warranty. For claims made during this one (1) year period, if the Manufacturer determines it will repair the Product(s) but will not assume the cost of labor pursuant to its Warranty, Weather Tight will provide the labor at no cost to Customer. Weather Tight will not service Manufacturer’s Warranty for claims made after this one (1) year period. The customer reported an issue in 2007, which was serviced successfully, and another in 2009. Even though his labor warranty had already expired, we were willing to provide service labor under what had become our new labor warranty beginning in 2008, which allows future service as long as the product is warrantied but requires payment of a service processing fee of $85. This was not required by his contract, but we had been honoring the revised warranty in most cases for other customers by this time in 2009. Our last contact with this customer indicated that they would consider whether or not to pay the fee. We have not heard from them since. We are sad to hear of this customer's difficulties following installation, and are more than willing to extend his labor warranty under our new warranty terms. Further, we would ask the BBB to consider this a customer comment and move it to the reviews section rather than complaints. There does not seem to be anything the customer is asking the BBB to do, or asking Weather Tight to do. It appears this is just meant as commentary, so would be better categorized as a customer review. Thank you!

In this case, Mr***’s complaint is totally justified. We made an egregious procedural and managerial error The President of Weather Tight Corporation has called & spoken with Mr*** personally, to offer his apology along with a dinner certificate for the
miscommunication on our end. Weather Tight will be escalating the service request and scheduling it at the earliest possible time, of course, at no charge to Mr***. Mr***’s complaint has allowed us to recognize a fault in our current procedure and we will also be scheduling an in-service training session with staff members to ensure that this error never happens again. Again, we are terribly sorry to have made this mistake and we appreciate Mr***’s feedback to allow us a growth opportunity within our organization

Please refer to our prior comments regarding the steps we are willing to take with the customer It seems to us that he is trying to write a negative review, not ask the Revdex.com for any assistance, as we have offered to remedy his problems but he is not interested in any further resolution We would again ask that this be moved to the review section rather than complaints, since there is nothing the customer is asking from either us or the Revdex.com except wanting to make it known that he is dissatisfied from his previous installation

Weather Tight's contract with this customer commenced on 4/24/15 and the completion date is on or before 9/24/15.  At the time of sale, we connected them with a lender to finance their job.  The lender is independent of our organization, and their initial financing expires after 4 months....

This customer was frustrated that the job was not completed prior to their financing expiring, however this is independent of our contract with the customer.  Due to customer privacy enforced by the financier, we cannot extend the financing on the customer's behalf.  Since submitting their Revdex.com complaint, this customer has called their financier and extended the timeframe of their loan.  Again, this is not something Weather Tight has any control over.  We are still on pace to fulfill our contract, as initially written, with the customer.  I have attached a copy of the original contract showing the dates indicating that this customer is still under contract with Weather Tight.

I will contact the State Agencies you have recommended to assist with the investigation of their unethical business practices.

The materials used were not the problem, the installation was the problem. My bay window (installed by WT) developed a water leak within a month. complained and a guy showed up and beat on it with a 2x4 and used a wrench to crank on a nut, causing my ceiling to crack. The soffit was installed improperly above my front door causing the screen door to hit it and get stuck in it. Complained and someone came out and lowered my screen door leaving a gap at top allowing bugs to enter. When I complained about the leaky gutters and improperly faced downspouts I was told there was nothing they could do and they were installed properly. What? The water issue took longer to appear. Water was leaking behind my facia brick into the basement wall, didn't realize until I saw the bricks cracking in winter. Fixed it myself with a tube of silicone, but the damage was already done. The man sent out for the estimate told me he was the finance manager. Didn't have a clue. When I spend that much money, I don't think I should have to find all their mistakes. I was a truck driver then, retired now, not a siding and gutter installer. Still picking up nails and pieces of siding out of my landscape, which I was told would not be disturbed. They stepped all over a 6 foot yew. It is finally coming back after 10 years. I was working many hours and didn't have time to be a supervisor. You think you hire a reputable contractor only to be disappointed and disgusted. I will bad mouth them until the day I die, hopefully costing them a lot of business and money.
