He
stated the reason for considering the refund is because I promised to buy
mattress in one month period. Then, why
didn’t he mention this gesture in his email sent on June after many calls,
visits and days after cancellationIn fact, it does not seem logical to
lose $if one has a plan of purchase in one month’s time which was almost
approaching June 27th in this case. Even the actual refund came (around the 18th)
still after many calls, visits and final interference of my bank on June

Review: Below is my experience at Mattress Fame Outlet located on [redacted], MD. [redacted].

Summary: The General Manager (GM) did not give me my remaining refund of $289; he included charges I do not understand on the email he sent; he failed to deliver my mattress on time (over 4 days late), and failed to deliver items that he promised (my free mattress and free pillows never came). On top of that, when I called him to ask about the refund, he hung up on me.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 morning following Labor Day weekend, my family and I (we) went to Mattress Fame Outlet to look for twin mattresses. The General Manager (GM) of the store assured us that the Labor Day Weekend Sale will be in effect if we decide to purchase that same day. The Labor Day sale for mattresses was: “Buy One mattress, Get One Free”.

The price for the Twin Therapedic Cloud Firm Mattress he quoted was $620, which would include a second free mattress and pillows. We also wanted to buy an Adjustable Bed, which he said was $1000. He gave us a total bill of $1620, delivery inclusive, free pillows and pickup of old mattresses. He charged the amount of $1718 (this includes a tax of $98) immediately from my account and promised the delivery to be done within 5 days. So, the bill shows:

1 Cloud Firm Twin Set

1 Primo Twin Mattress

1 Adjustable Bed

Pillows

Subtotal----------------------------------------------------------------------? $1620

Tax ---------------------------------------------------------------------------? $ 98

Delivery INC

Total ------------------------------------------------------------------------? $1718

Two days after, we went to the shop and advised a colleague that we do not want the Adjustable Bed, for which we paid $1000. The colleague said he would pass the message to the GM and adjustments will be made by the boss. I called several times to follow-up and each time he assured me that adjustment will be made accordingly and the delivery for the Therapedic Cloud Mattress will be done soon. Since 9 days after the purchase, we did not receive delivery of the Mattresses nor a refund for the Adjustable Bed, we went back to the Store. We met the co-worker whom we told that we have been awaiting for the delivery but nothing has arrived and no adjustment has been made. He apologized and assured us that the cloud mattress just arrived in the office and will be delivered that same day. He said he can do nothing but only pass the message to his boss.

Later that same evening, at about 7:30 p.m., 9 days after the purchase, on June 5th, the GM himself delivered One Therapedic Mattress. He did not bring the free pillows nor the free mattress. To my surprise, he asked $20 to pick the used twin mattress even though I had already made an all-inclusive payment at the store. He said he could not give a receipt or give me my refund for the Adjustable Bed right there because he did not have any paperwork on hand. He promised I would get my refund by Monday June 09. I did not. I made several calls on June 10 and 11 (morning) neither did he call nor did he answer. He finally called from the Store on the afternoon of June 11 and advised me that he has made the refund calculation which has come to $711 instead of $1000 which I was expecting. When I insisted that the calculation is incorrect he asked me for an email address to send detailed information.

Email reads: “Mattress fame accounting department processed $711.00 refunded to your credit card account. ($1718 - $1007= $711.00) Refund processed $711.00. You will see the credit in few business days. If you have any concerns please contact your local sleep center ###-###-####.

Cloud Therapedic Twin set retail $1399.99 discounted to $898.00

Tax $54.00

Delivery Setup $55.00

5/27/20014 total Sale Purchase$ ----------$1007.00

Thank you for your business. Accounting & Refund department.”

What I don’t understand about this email is how he decided to raise the price of the mattress to $898 when he told us it was $620. Also, he never delivered the free mattress and the pillows.Desired Settlement: Refund of $289

Or take back the mattress he delivered (please note he did not deliver the pillows that I paid for nor the free mattress that came as part of the sale) and give me back the full amount I paid.

Review: On March 21,2013 I purchased four Mattress sets from the Mattress Fame Store. 3 Queen sets & 1 Full set. I paid for the product and delivery. Upon delivery on March 30.2013 the Queen Box wouldn't fit up the stairway. [redacted], the General Manager, who was there at the time of delivery, explained I had to get a split Queen Box set which would be an extra $120. I returned to the store on April 2,2013 and purchased a Queen split box. The price was not $120 it was $153.70. They in turn wanted me to take a damaged box with the plastic cover was open. I complained about that and the sales person called [redacted] on the phone. [redacted] informed me that if I wanted a new Box set it would be $180 plus tax. I explained to him that was not what he quoted to me standing in my house. He proceeded to explain to me that he was giving me a good deal and He could not give me a new split box set for the price of $153 that price was for the older ones he had in the store. After several minutes of back & forth arguing he agreed to give me the new ones for the $153 price but it couldn't be delivered without me paying another delivery fee. I disagreed and was prepared to pick it up. On April ,2013 I received a call from the store about the Split box being delivered. I informed the sales person that I wasn't home I was at a funeral. He said the Box would be there if someone was at my house to let them in. My Daughter was there when they delivered it. Once I returned home and set up the bed I found it was a king box. I called the store and [redacted] informed me they knew about the mistake by his delivery people and I had to bring the king set back to the store in order to receive my queen set. I refused to bring a product back that they knew was delivered incorrectly. I have called the store for a solution and to this day I have a king box set sitting in my living room and I am in turn sleeping on the floor. [redacted] will not return my calls and I haven't been allowed to pick up my box set.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to Pick up their product and give me my Queen box set that I purchased.
