Myself, my son, and my sons father decided to go to Matt’s Steakhouse for good food and good atmosphere. We waited over an hour for the two prime ribs we ordered. When they cam out the were tough colorless unappeasabjng pieces of meat that were not worth 40$. My sons father immediately sent his back and the waitress/manager *** stated that he would have to pay for it anyway. We became destrought and him and my son went to the car as I tried to reason with her, stating that the plate was not touched so we should not have to pay for it. She said if we didn’t pay for it she would call the sheriff. I paid the bill and promptly left only to get. A call from the sheriff stating the business is trespassing us. This is not how a business should be ran.

On our menu and our advertisements we have it listed that we do not serve Prime Rib until 4pm. However on this day, because our food order ran behind, we had been informing customers that the prime rib would be running behind as well and these customers were made aware of this and agreed to the situation. These customers were the first two to get this when it was available. The son's father ordered a "well done end piece". The complainant ate all of her Prime Rib without issue. While they were waiting for their meal, the son's father ate a total of 3 bottomless salads and breadsticks. By the time his Rib came out, he was full and the complainant told the server as much. After he waited a little bit, he grabbed the server and complained about the state of the Rib. Naturally after some time, it would get cold. We don't offer refunds, we do offer replacements and did so for the son's father. We even offered to box it and send it with them. They were not okay with this. They told us they were going to leave without paying and we informed them that this was not acceptable. The son and the son's father left, the complainant stayed behind in the booth and was crying about the situation, but did end up paying for the food. About 20 minutes after they left, the son's father called and spoke with me, the owner. He wanted to know why we made her pay for it and I explained our policy on the subject and he, at that point said, "I am going to go up there and take care of this situation" and hung up. At that point I called the Sheriff, I explained the situation to them and they ended up calling the complainant. That's the end of my side of the story. As far as your resolution, we did try to fix the situation for you. Due to the nature of the situation escalating the way it did, being threatened, and having to call the Sheriff and having them take care of it, we feel this situation is resolved and wish you the best of luck.

I am rejecting this response because:
I did not eat my portion of the prime rib in its entirety in fact it too was barely touched. Attached is a picture of the left over. We however did ask for a replace and our server Dawn refused to do so without paying for the prime rib and a different meal ordered. This response is unacceptable. Being in the service industry and being treated with this unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Replacing the order would have been more than sufficient, but again was not offered.
This picture was just taken and I will be happy to keep it in my fridge if further proof is needed.
When I contacted the establishment to speak to an owner I was met with a phone call from an officer who assured me this was a civil matter and it will be felt in that form.

I am rejecting this response because: unfortunately this response is unacceptable. Being in the service industry for ten plus years and being treated unfairly is not ok. There will be a response to this matter in civil court. The disrespect and the large amounts of lies told to attempt to cover up a matter that left the business at fault will not be tolerated. Seeing as how proof was provided that the quality was unsatisfactory and still no attempt to correct the situation is disgraceful.
