Mattson reported a false item on my personal credit. I have consistently denied this charge since July 2009. [redacted] improperly billed me for a unsubstantiated damage claim. I have a signed damage receipt from [redacted] showing no damage. I returned the car to the [redacted] parking garage an attendant met me took the keys, noted the fuel and mileage. The attendant then walked around the car and inspected the vehicle. The attendant signed the damage form with no indication of damage,got in the car and drove off. I then went to settle the CC. My sons were with me. Mattson also has a copy of this damage receipt. [redacted] found a rock chip in the windshield when they went to service the car the next day. This was after an [redacted] attendant inspected, accepted and drove the car out of the parking garage. [redacted] of [redacted] asserted no attendant inspected the car but that is not true. As mentioned I had my two sons with me when I turned the car in, they will confirm the fact. As I have also explained a simple review of their own security camera would reveal an [redacted] representative did in fact inspect the car, sign the receipt and drive away. I noticed on another complaint against [redacted] they [redacted] actually used security tape to prove their story, I would assume they looked at the tape.
[redacted], on a seperate phone converstaion mentioned even if an attendant accepeted the car that attendant car didn't have the authourity to inspect the vehicle. I explained to [redacted] (in an email) there is no way for me to know which attendant has the authourity and which one doesn't.
I quite simply don't owe this amount. It is disputed and has been disputed since the out set. I firmly believe the rock chip occured when the attendant drove the car out of the garage.
The only protection a consumer has is the signed damage waiver, a copy of which was provided to Mattson by [redacted] I noticed [redacted] also attached a damage form to the damage receipt,but this form was filled out the next day, after they had driven the car and provided me with a receipt showing no damage. Mattson should not have reported this item to the credit bureau. I might add this is the second agency to contact me on this issue, [redacted] first went to [redacted] who accepted the explantion with no follow up. Mattson contacted a full 12 months after [redacted] and 24 months after the incident. I told them I had already provided all the file information to [redacted] and [redacted] and they should request the enitre file before they pursued any action.
