Contracted Mattson and Schuster for a main floor remodel with a new gourmet kitchenThe project cost was over $100KFrom the moment our remodel began, there was a complete lack of general contractor managementThe plans did not have sufficient detail for the subcontractors causing confusion and cost overrunsSub contractors were not paid in a timely manner causing them ask us for direct payment.Our project was rushed due to our willingness to be included in the remodelers showcase, but this caused numerous mistakesThese were fixed, but then we were charged for the labor overagesAfter the showcase, the project literally stopped with a long list of items still needing to be addressedThe final blow was when they sent an intern to deliver an $18K hand written, non itemized overage bill with no substantiating paperwork (no change orders, no notification of labor overruns, no notification of material overages)My advicestay away and find someone who will pay attention to your project

I hired Mattson & Schuster to complete a simple screen porch addition to my houseThis general contractor provides no oversightCalled City to inspect framing partially done and major corrections neededThen this GC cannot get materials and workers on site at the same timeIn the 3+months this project has been ongoing workers have not been on site more than timesThe last work was done weeks agoHomeowner had to winterize the unfished project at own expenseMaterial left all over the siteTrusted contractor and paid in timely fashionThis trust unwarranted.Mattson & Schuster treats homeowners with contemptWill not provide any updates--does not clean up site in timely fashionPiles of material blocking garage door at onset of a Minnesota winter, .but no information when work will finally resume, If a company can't complete a simple design like this porch, don't entrust them with a complex projectI wish I had read reviews before I hiredNothing but regrets bordering on despair
