Maui Vacation Condo Rental

Review: I rented a condo from this business for a week from Mar 29 to Apr 5 2015. The place was advertised as a newly renovated condo. When we arrived the place was not in a good condition and the ceiling lights in the kitchen were full with dead bugs. The curtains were filthy, mold around the sink area and the bath shower.

When I contacted the business asking to leave as the condition of this condo was not as advertised, the business ,manager told me that they had a winter storm the last two months that left the curtains dirty and that other renters left the windows open and this is why the condo had lots of bugs.

I left the condo by Apr 1st when I found an alternative accommodation and asked the manager to only charge me for the 3 nights and not the 7 nights. I informed as soon as I arrived (with email evidence) that we are not satisfied with the condo condition. I also informed him prior to leaving that I will be leaving on Apr 1 2015.Desired Settlement: Given that the manager did not disclose the condition of the condo prior to renting it and the fact that I informed him that we intend to leave by the first, I would like to be charged for the 3 nights and not the seven nights. The payment was made in advance and the total amount for the 7 night stay was charged. The manager refused to shorten the stay and referred me to the contract, I reminded him that he sent me an email confirming the condition of the condo and that this was not disclosed, but he refused to change the charge for the 3 days.

Review: I reserved a condo with Mauivacationcondorentals.com.The website listed several false statements.The description of the unit contained many inaccuracies.1. It listed AC, but did not mention the AC was on a 2 hour timer. This is completely unreasonable to use over night. To expect guests to get out of bed and walk to another room every two hours is ridiculous. When I called the owner he said I could pay an extra $50 a day to have the timer temporarily removed. He also said it had to be on a timer because it sucked so much energy that the island could experience rolling brownouts.I find this ironic since many stores in the town run AC with open doors all day.2. The site lists beach access. This was not true and I took 2 photos to show this. One photo shows the warning signs to keep guests from the beach. The other shows how there is no beach.3. The mattress was very old, lacked any support and had giant stains and tears. I have photos to show this. There was a stain that was about 12x10 inches. There were tears all over the mattress. It was a very saggy mattress lacking support.The owner argued with me when I tried to explain this to him.We had to book another room in a different location because this condo was so unacceptable.I have several photos to show each of these issues.Desired Settlement: I contacted the owners to request a refund.Grant Oepkes was argumentative and belligerent.
