Review: I purchased a water softener system for my home from Maui Water Systems/Mahi Water Systems in Dec. 2010. After the system was installed I called and asked the company to check it because I couldn't tell a difference in the water. They told me someone would come out to check it and nobody ever showed up. I tried calling them several time and I never received a reply. The first time they contacted me was to sell me replacement filters for the reverse osmosis drinking water over a year later. In 2013 they contacted us once more to sell us filters and this time they sold us a membrane, which we also weren't told about when we bought it, so the technician came out to replace everything. I asked him to check the system because I couldn't tell if it was working and because we were losing water pressure. He moved the valve on top and later on that day I noticed a difference in the water for the first time in 3 years. We kept losing water pressure after that so we called our local water district and they told us it was the water softener system and our water pressure was restored after the system was bypassed. I called Maui/Mahi and when the man came out he said something was wrong and it was going to cost us an additional $600 at least to fix it. This is on top of the $5000 we paid for the system in the beginning. When we purchased the system we weren't told of any of these possibilities. They told us everything was covered and it should last us 20 years. He couldn't even tell me if that was the exact cause of the issue he just looked at it and said that was probably it. The system never seemed to work from the beginning and it was either the system or whoever installed it didn't install it properly. I've tried contacting them for the past 2 weeks because now I don't have any drinking water and they have not responded. This company shouldn't be selling poor systems for an expensive price. I don't want anyone else to get ripped off.Desired Settlement: I want a refund or a replacement system.
